Starbucks You Are Here Collection Mug - Illinois

As I mentioned in my previous entry, my husband bought this Starbucks You Are Here Collection Illinois mug during his business trip in Chicago last week. He had gone to Chicago several times in the past few years, but this was first time to find this mug. We actually didn't know that Starbucks released this Illinois mug. Anyway, I'm going to share this mug with you today. :)

You can see the picture of a corn field on this mug. According to Wikipedia, Illinois ranks second in U.S. corn production with more than 1.5 billion bushels produced annually. The black silk hat is a symbol of Abraham Lincoln, who was the 16th US President.

The picture of the building underneath the word, "ILLINOIS", looks like the Illinois state capitol. (Thank -J for letting me know! According to -J, these look like a corn crib and a silo.)

According to Wikipedia, Illinois is a leader in music education having hosted the Midwest Clinic: An International Band and Orchestra Conference since 1946, as well being home to the Illinois Music Educators Association (IMEA), one of the largest professional music educator's organizations in the country. I can't figure out what the ladder like picture is. (According to -J, it's Lewis & Clark Confluence Tower in Hartford!)

There is a picture of the huge river boat of Illinois. (According to -J, the tall rocks by the river are the Mississippi Palisades State Park Sentinel Rock or Lover's Leap & The Eagle Cliff Overlook at Starved Rock State Park.)

  1. I was excited to find your blog post. I just purchased an Illinois mug this week and am trying to find a description online. I read on another site that the ladder like building is the Lewis & Clark Confluence Tower in Hartford, IL. I think the tall rocks by the river are the Mississippi Palisades State Park Sentinel Rock (or Lover's Leap & The Eagle Cliff Overlook At Starved Rock State Park). I thought that the building under "LLIN" in Illinois is a corn crib (Do a google search for "old Illinois corn crib" and select "images.") The building next to it might be a silo (?). Thanks for the insight on the guitar, too. I was confused.
