DERMAdoctor Kakadu C 20% Vitamin C Serum

Beyond Burger Plant-Basted Patties - It Tastes Like Real Meat!

A few weeks ago, my husband and I went to Whole Foods and purchased these plant-based meat products.

Plant-Based Meat

Not All Plant-Based Meat Tasted Like Real Meat

Years ago, we also had plant-based ham for our first time, and we were surprised that it tasted like real ham and was very delicious! That's why we expected that these plant-basted meat products I purchased at Whole Foods would definitely taste great.   First, I tried Lightlife Breakfast Patties, however, it tasted like weird... It was a bit spicy and very dry. I was going to write about these plant-based meat products on my blog, but I was disappointed in that one, so I almost gave up writing about these because I only want to share with you what I really love through my blog.

He Made Beyond Burger Sandwiches, And It Was Beyond My Expectation!

Last week, my husband made sandwiches with Beyond Burger Plant-Based Patties, and it was really good! It was beyond my expectation! It tasted like real meat! It had like natural meat flavors and very juicy. He took a lot of photos for my blog while making the sandwiches and asked me to write about his Beyond Burger sandwiches, so today's article is requested by my husband. 😁

This Beyond Burger Plant-Based Patties is originally $5.69 and contain two large patties.

Is Plant-Based Meat Always Healthier Than Real Meat?

Unfortunately, its answer is probably, "no." Beyond Burger Plant-Based Patties is high in calories, sodium, and saturated fat, but zero cholesterol. If you want to lower your blood pressure, eating plant-based meat on a daily basis is not always better choice because of high in sodium. In my opinion, plant-based meat is not always healthier than meat. That being said, Beyond Burger is so delicious! That's why only have it once in a while to savor it.

This Is How My Husband Made Beyond Burger Sandwiches!

Just cook Beyond Burger patties and eggs in a large flying pan.

This is his homemade sliced bread. 😋

Spread mayonnaise, ketchup and mustard over the slice.

     Add the patty on it.

Put your favorite cheese on it.

     Put sliced tomato on it.

Finally, top it with fried egg.

   Enjoy!

How to Cook Yakisoba, Japanese Fried Noodles

Tonight, I learned how to cook yakisoba (焼きそば) from my husband. Yakisoba is Japanese fried noodles and is one of the most popular foods in Japan. When it comes to noodle dishes, he is very good at cooking those. Today, I'm going to share how to cook yakisoba with you.

Ingredients for 2 Servings
1 Egg (Beaten)
2 Sliced Bacon (Cut into Pieces)
2 Servings of Noodles and Sauce for Yakisoba
1/2 Onion (Sliced)
1/4 of A Head of Cabbage (Chopped)
1/2 Cup of Water

Noodles for Yakisoba

We usually purchase this Maruchan's Nama Yaki-Soba, which contains three servings of noodles and powdered yakisoba sauce, at our local Japanese supermarkets. (Nama means raw in Japanese, by the way.) In the U.S., you can find this one at frozen aisle at Asian supermarkets. In Japan, you can find raw yakisoba noodles at fridge aisle at most supermarkets.

This time, we used two servings of noodles and yakisoba sauce.

Meat and Vegetables

This time, we used turkey bacon, onion and cabbage because we have those in our kitchen, but you can use any kinds of meat and vegetables. For meat, I recommend thinly sliced pork, regular pork bacon or sausage. If you would like to try seafood yakisoba, you can try octopus or squids. For vegetables, I recommend onion, cabbages, carrots, bell peppers or/and bean sprouts.

How to Cook Yakisoba (焼きそば), Japanese Fried Noodles

1. Heat oil in a large frying pan over high heat. Stir-fry beaten egg in the pan.

Then, move the eggs onto a dish.

2. In the same pan, stir-fry bacon until it's cooked.

Then, move the bacon onto a dish.

3. Microwave frozen noodles for two to three minutes until they are almost fully cooked.

4. Heat oil in the same pan over high heat. Stir-fry onions and cabbages for three minutes.

5. Add noodles. Then, pour water over the noodles, and loosen the noodles with chopsticks.

6. Cover the lid and cook it for 1 to two minutes.

7. Turn off the heat. Then, add cooked egg, bacon and vegetables.

8. Add powdered yakisoba sauce over the noodles.

     Stir them thoroughly.

9. Serve the yakisoba on a plate.

    Sprinkle aonori flakes over it.

Sprinkle katsuobushi, dried bonito flakes, over it.

Top it with Japanese mayonnaise. You can also add shredded red ginger pickles on top. (We ran out of shredded red ginger pickles this time though.)

10. Enojy!

4 Ways to Protect Your Skin from UV Rays

I believe that sun protection is very important to delay the skin aging process. Indeed, it's told that UVA and UVB are responsible for 80% of facial aging signs such as wrinkling, dryness, sagging and spotty pigmentation. Today, I'm going to share with you how I protect myself from harmful UV rays.

1. Wearing Sunscreens

My Entries Related to Japanese Sunscreens
I always wear sunscreen all year round. Even if it's cloudy or rainy, I still wear sunscreen. In addition to liquid sunscreen, I also apply powder sunscreen after applying foundation. If you have sensitive skin, I recommend you to wear Japanese sunscreens with SPF around 30. SPF30 sunscreen is effective enough for daily use and is more gentle than SPF50.

You can check my previous entries related to sunscreens.

2. Wearing Sun Protective Clothing

UNIQLO AIRism UV Protection Hoodie

As I mentioned in my previous entry, I purchased UNIQLO UV protection hoodies to protect my skin from UV rays, and I really love them which are UPF40! Specifically, I really love breathable mesh of AIRism UV Protection Hoodie. It's long sleeve hoodie but has cool feeling with AIRism's comfort conditioning technology, so it's perfect for sunny summer.

3. Having Your Car Windows Tinted

Last week, my husband and I had my car windows tinted at Presto Window Tinting located in Huntington Beach. It was about $340 for 7 windows. Car window films block 99% of harmful UV rays and reduce heat inside the car. I should have done it sooner!

4. Installing Home Window Films

UV Protection Window Film

I am planning on installing UV protection window films for our home office windows. Home window films also block 99% of harmful UV rays and reduce heat inside home. While I am blogging, I stay in the front of the large windows for hours, so I realized that I really need home window films after having my car windows tinted. When I finish installing window films for my home office, I will share it with you. 😉
