9 Products I Purchased at Muji in Japan - Muji Haul

Last summer, my husband and I spent time in Japan, and one of the things I was most excited about was visiting Muji. I’ve always loved their simple, well‑designed products, so stopping by a Muji store was high on my list. This time, I had the chance to explore locations in both Fukuoka and Nagasaki.

If you’re planning a trip to Japan, I really recommend visiting a Muji store there. The selection feels broader, the prices are often more reasonable, and many items are especially popular among locals. Today, I’d love to share the Muji products I picked up during this trip.

This time, I didn’t buy my usual Muji lotions because I had stocked up during my previous trip to Japan. I actually hadn’t expected that I would be returning last summer, so I still had plenty left at home. If you are interested in my previous Muji haul, you can take a look here

1. Urethane Foam 3 Layer Sponge (ウレタンフォーム三層スポンジ)

Sponges for Dish Wash
3 pieces for 299 yen
Urethane Foam 3 Layer Sponge (ウレタンフォーム三層スポンジ)
I picked up the Urethane Foam 3‑Layer Sponge (ウレタンフォーム三層スポンジ), which is one of Muji’s classic dish‑washing sponges. I’ve always liked Japanese dish sponges—they’re light, dry quickly, and somehow make everyday cleaning feel a little easier. This one has a firm core with softer layers on the outside, so it creates a good lather without feeling bulky. It’s simple, inexpensive, and works beautifully, which is exactly why I love Muji household items.

2. Tube Squeezer (チューブ絞り器)

3 pieces for 99 yen

Tube Squeezer (チューブ絞り器)

I also picked up the Tube Squeezer (チューブ絞り器) for 99 yen. It’s such a simple little tool, but incredibly useful. You just slide it onto the end of a tube—toothpaste, hand cream, even wasabi—and it helps push out every last bit without much effort. I love these practical Muji items that quietly make daily routines easier. It’s lightweight, inexpensive, and one of those things you don’t realize you needed until you start using it.

3. Portable Paper Napkin (携帯用ペーパーナプキン)

6 packs for 99 yen

Portable Paper Napkin (携帯用ペーパーナプキン)
I also bought the Portable Paper Napkin (携帯用ペーパーナプキン), which came as a set of six packs for 99 yen. They’re thin, compact, and easy to slip into a small bag or pocket—perfect for travel days, quick snacks, or moments when you just need something handy. I like how lightweight they are, and the simple packaging feels very Muji. It’s one of those practical items that’s nice to have on hand, especially when you’re out and about in Japan.

4. Spectacles Wipes (メガネ拭き)

14 sheets for 80 yen

Spectacles Wipes (メガネ拭き)
I also picked up the Spectacles Wipes (メガネ拭き), which come with 14 sheets for 80 yen. They’re packaged together in a slim, lightweight pouch that’s easy to slip into a small bag. The wipes are soft enough to clean glasses quickly, and they’re handy for moments when my sunglasses get smudged. It’s another simple Muji item that feels practical to keep on hand while traveling or running errands.

5. Mini Ramen Tom Yam Kung (ミニラーメン トムヤンクン味)

4 pieces for 150 yen

Mini Ramen Tom Yam Kung (ミニラーメン トムヤンクン味)
I also bought my all‑time favorite Mini Ramen Tom Yam Kung (ミニラーメン トムヤンクン味), which comes in a pack of four for 150 yen. These little ramen bricks are perfect as a quick snack—you can enjoy them as‑is, like crunchy ramen chips, or add hot water for a light soup. The Tom Yam Kung flavor has a nice balance of sourness and gentle spice, and it’s fun to keep a few on hand for an easy treat. It’s one of those affordable Muji snacks that instantly brings back the feeling of being in Japan.

6. White Peach Jelly (白桃ゼリー 乳酸菌入り)

250 yen

White Peach Jelly (白桃ゼリー 乳酸菌入り)
I also purchased the White Peach Jelly (白桃ゼリー 乳酸菌入り) for 250 yen. It has a soft, refreshing white‑peach flavor and contains 50 billion lactic‑acid bacteria, which can be supportive for overall gut health. The texture is light and easy to enjoy, almost like a small dessert you can eat anytime. I like that it feels both tasty and a little functional.

7. Chestnut Steamed Buns (栗まんじゅう)

6 pieces for 390 yen

Chestnut Steamed Buns (栗まんじゅう)
I also purchased the Chestnut Steamed Buns (栗まんじゅう), which come in a pack of six for 390 yen. They’re small, soft buns with a mild sweetness and a comforting chestnut flavor. The texture is tender and slightly moist, making them easy to enjoy with tea or as a little afternoon snack. It’s one of those simple Japanese treats that feels nostalgic and satisfying.

8. Sweet Potato Cake (スイートポテトケーキ)

250 yen

Sweet Potato Cake (スイートポテトケーキ)
I also purchased the Sweet Potato Cake (スイートポテトケーキ) for 250 yen. It has a soft, moist texture with a warm sweetness that feels very comforting. The flavor is simple but satisfying—just the natural taste of sweet potato without being too heavy. It’s the kind of small treat that pairs nicely with tea and makes a quiet moment feel a little cozier.

9. Burdock Snack (素材を生かしたスナック ごぼう)

120 yen

Burdock Snack (素材を生かしたスナック ごぼう)

I also purchased the Burdock Snack (素材を生かしたスナック ごぼう) for 120 yen. These light, crispy snacks have a mild burdock aroma and a savory flavor that feels very Japanese. They’re not too salty, and the texture is airy enough that you can enjoy them without feeling heavy. It’s the kind of simple snack that pairs well with tea and makes a nice little break during the day.

9 Products I Purchased at Muji Store in Japan - Muji Haul

Muji Haul

As I mentioned in my previous entry, my husband and I visited Japan last year. Since I adore Muji products, visiting a Muji store was high on my must-visit list in Japan. This time, I explored the Muji store in Fukuoka. If you’re planning a trip to Japan, I highly recommend stopping by a Muji store there. Muji offers excellent products at reasonable prices, and many of their items are especially popular in Japan. Today, I’m excited to share what I purchased from the Muji store in Japan with you.

1. Muji Toning Water Moisture (無印良品 敏感肌用 化粧水 しっとり)

Japanese Keshosui, Moisturizing Lotion

300 ml bottle for 790 yen

270 ml refill for 690 yen

Muji Toning Water Moisture (無印良品 敏感肌用 化粧水 しっとり)

I purchased Muji Toning Water Moisture (無印良品 敏感肌用 化粧水 しっとりタイプ), which is my all-time favorite Japanese keshosui. As I mentioned in my previous entry, 3 Best Affordable Japanese Facial Lotions, Keshosui (& My Favorite One + My Skincare Routine), I love Muji Toning Water because it’s affordable, allowing me to use it generously. I also appreciate its light, water-like texture, which still manages to provide excellent hydration. Applying this lightweight keshosui feels as if my skin is drinking water!

Muji Toning Water Moisture (無印良品 敏感肌用 化粧水 しっとり)

You might notice that the bottle of Muji Toning Water Moisture now features a new, rounded design. While I liked the original bottle design, which was still available, I decided to try the new round bottle this time. I purchased this bottle along with four refills. Many Japanese companies, including Muji, offer a variety of refill packs for products like shampoo, laundry detergent, and skincare items to help reduce plastic waste.

2. Muji Spray Head (無印良品 スプレーヘッド)

Spray Head for Muji Keshosui

150 yen

Muji Spray Head (無印良品 スプレーヘッド)

I also purchased the Muji Spray Head (無印良品 スプレーヘッド). Using this spray head makes it much easier to apply keshosui to your skin.

3. Muji Foaming Net for Face Wash (無印良品 洗顔用 泡立てネット)

99 yen

Muji Foaming Net for Face Wash (無印良品 洗顔用 泡立てネット)

I use a Japanese foaming net to lather up my facial cleanser every day. Even when I travel, I always bring my foaming net along. It's one of my must-have beauty items! :) The net makes it quick and easy to create plenty of lather. For more, check out my previous entry, Top 5 Life-Changing Japanese Beauty Products.

4. Muji Urethane Foam Soap Dish (無印良品 発泡ウレタン 石けん置き)

Soap Dish

290 yen

Muji Urethane Foam Soap Dish (無印良品 発泡ウレタン 石けん置き)

I previously purchased Muji soap dish, and I decided to buy it again. While I tried using different soap dish, I’ve realized that the Muji one is the best because it prevents the soap from melting.

Muji Urethane Foam Soap Dish (無印良品 発泡ウレタン 石けん置き)

As I mentioned in my previous entry, my husband makes homemade soap to accommodate his very sensitive skin. His handmade soap is incredibly gentle, and I’ve started using it for both my body and face. The only downside is that it melts more easily than commercial soap. That’s why the Muji soap dish is a lifesaver—it helps the soap last longer.

5. Muji UV Pressed Powder Refill SPF 50+ PA++++ (無印良品 UVプレストパウダー リフィル)

Pressed Powder

01 Natural

SPF 50+ PA++++

9.2 g (0.32 oz) Refill for 1,290 yen

Muji Pressed Powder Refill SPF 50+ PA++++ (無印良品 UVプレストパウダー リフィル)

I was eager to try Muji Pressed Powder for the first time after hearing Kazunosuke, a Japanese YouTuber, describe it as one of the best Japanese UV powders in his video.

Muji Pressed Powder Refill SPF 50+ PA++++ (無印良品 UVプレストパウダー リフィル)

I’ve been wearing this pressed powder every day since I purchased it. While I’ve read many Japanese reviews praising its UV protection, I’m not entirely sure if it effectively shields my skin from UV rays with SPF 50+. (This doesn’t matter much to me since I apply Biore UV Aqua Rich Sunscreen on my face daily.) What I truly love about this powder is how it prevents my skin from becoming greasy. I especially enjoy applying it to my eyebrows before using Kate eyebrow powder. It keeps my eyebrow makeup intact all day by keeping the area smooth, dry, and grease-free.

6. Muji Hair Rubber Band Slim Brown (無印良品 ヘアゴムリング・細・茶)

Elastic Hair Ties

3 Pieces for 190 yen

Muji Hair Rubber Band Slim Brown (無印良品 ヘアゴムリング・細・茶)

I used to rely on Scunci hair ties I purchased in the U.S., but I noticed they only lasted about a week. One day, while searching through my drawer, I found some Japanese hair ties I had bought from Muji over 10 years ago. Since I was running low on Scunci hair ties, I decided to try them. To my surprise, the Japanese hair tie didn’t break, even after countless uses. That’s when I decided to purchase Muji hair ties again. This pack includes just three ties, but I can confidently say they will last for years. I’ve been using one of the ties for six months now, and it’s still as good as new.

7. Muji Mini Ramen Tom Yam Kung (無印良品 ミニラーメン トムヤムクン味)

Instant Ramen

Tom Yam Kung Flavor

4 Pieces for 150 yen

Muji Mini Ramen Tom Yam Kung (無印良品 ミニラーメン トムヤムクン味)

I’m a big fan of the Muji Mini Ramen series (無印良品 ミニラーメン). While you can use it to make instant ramen noodles, I enjoy eating it directly as a snack—no cooking required! If you’re a fan of Baby Star Ramen Snack, you might like this too. The Tom Yam Kung (Tom Yum Goong) flavor has a delightful salty and sour taste, with a hint of lime that I absolutely loved.

8. Muji Baked Cheese Cake (無印良品 不揃い ベイクドチーズケーキ)

Baked Cheese Cake

1 Piece for 180 yen

Muji Baked Cheese Cake (無印良品 不揃い ベイクドチーズケーキ)

Whenever I visit a Muji store, I make it a point to try some of their sweets. This time, I picked up their Baked Cheesecake, which had a wonderfully rich cheese flavor that I absolutely loved.

9. Muji Sweet Potato Cake (無印良品 スイートポテトケーキ)

Japanese Sweet Potato Cake

1 Piece for 250 yen

Muji Sweet Potato Cake (無印良品 スイートポテトケーキ)

I also bought the Muji Sweet Potato Cake, which had plenty of Japanese sweet potato pieces on the surface. It was packed with a rich sweet potato flavor that won me over.

What Do They Sell at MUJI com? - Muji Kitchen in Tokyo

When I visit Japan, I always go to Muji because it is one of my must go to places in Japan. You can check out my Muji entries. As I mentioned in my previous entry, my husband and I visited Japan in 2022 and stayed at Sunshine City Prince Hotel in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. It's very convenient location for shopping and dining. After enjoying breakfast at Sukiya, a Japanese beef bowl restaurant, we stopped by MUJI com, which is located on the first floor of the Muji headquarters building.

4-26-3 Higashiikebukuro
Toshima-ku, Tokyo

Hours
Monday through Friday 8 a.m, to 8 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
MUJI com Higashiikebukuro

MUJI com is selling groceries including deli such as bento boxes. They also sell some essential products. I think that MUJI com is like a convenience store exclusively selling Muji products.

Muji Vending Machine

Next to the entrance, there was the Muji vending machine outside. You can purchase Muji bottled drinks including coffee and many kinds of tea for 90 yen to 150 yen.

Muji Bento Boxes

This Muji store sells bento boxes and rice balls!

They sell Today's Bento (日替わり弁当) for 600 yen, salted rice balls (塩おにぎり) for 150 yen, ume rice balls (梅おにぎり) for 200 yen, and salmon rice balls (鮭おにぎり) for 200 yen.

Nori Ben / Nori Bento

These are nori ben (のり弁), which is some main and side dishes over the dried nori seaweed and rice. These looked so good!

Muji Water Refill Station

Muji Water Dispenser

Muji has started Muji Water Project to reduce plastic waste since 2020. Some Muji stores have water dispensers, so you can bring your own water bottle and fill the water for free. You can find the Muji Water Refill Station locations from here or their app. While we were at the MUJI com, I saw that some people were refilling the water indeed.

Freshly Brewed Coffee

You can purchase freshly brewed coffee at Muji just like you find at Japanese convenience stores

Original Blend Coffee : Hot 100 yen

Dark Coffee : Hot 100 yen / Cold 200 yen

Decafe : Hot 100 yen / Cold 200 yen

Cafe Ore : Hot 100 yen / Cold 200 yen

We decided to have Muji Iced Coffee for 200 yen. However, we were disappointed in that it only accept cash or prepaid Japanese transportation IC cards. Obviously, we didn't have prepaid IC card because we were visitors from the U.S. Also we didn't have much coins at that time but were glad that we had at least two 100 yen coins in my wallet! 😅

How to Purchase Freshly Brewed Coffee at Muji

1. Place a cup in the coffee machine. (For iced coffee, take the plastic cup with ice out of freezer and remove the plastic lid. Then, place it in the coffee machine.)

2. Insert coins.

3. Push the menu button.

     It tasted good! 😊

It was my first time to visit MUJI com, and I thought that it's very convenient store for local people. They sell many products you can easily cook at their kitchen. I didn't know that MUJI com selling Muji bento boxes! If we could have stayed in Ikebukuro longer, I would have definitely tried their nori ben (のり弁)! It's because nori ben is my most favorite Japanese bento.

By the way, we also went to other Muji branches and purchased a lot of Muji products. You can find my previous Muji haul entry, 8 Products I Purchased at Muji Store in Japan - Muji Haul.
