Review: Hilton Fukuoka Seala Buffet – Onigiri, Omelets & More

Seala Breakfast Buffet

Back in March, my husband and I returned to Japan, and once again we found ourselves at the Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk. One of the highlights of staying here is breakfast at Seala, the hotel’s restaurant on the 4th floor. I’ve written about it a couple of times before, but it’s worth mentioning again because the experience never disappoints. Normally priced at ¥3,600 per person, the buffet was complimentary for us thanks to my husband’s Hilton Diamond status—a generous ¥7,200 perk that made our mornings even brighter.

Breakfast Buffet

Monday through Friday   6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Weekends and Holidays   6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Seala has plenty of room, with big tables that make the space feel open and relaxed, even when breakfast gets busy. I noticed they separate the general seating from the Hilton Honors section, which adds a nice touch. Since my husband is a Diamond member, we were guided to the area with purple carpet. It was quieter there, and the atmosphere felt a bit more special—like a calm corner away from the crowd.

The buffet had a generous spread, with plenty to choose from—Japanese dishes, some Chinese options, and all the familiar Western‑style favorites. It felt easy to wander from station to station and pick whatever matched our mood that morning.

I always look forward to the freshly made onigiri at Hilton Fukuoka. This time they offered two tasty options—mentaiko (spicy cod roe) and takana (pickled mustard leaves). After you order, the staff shapes the rice ball right in front of you, which makes it feel personal and a bit special. It’s such a simple touch, but not something you usually find at hotel buffets, and it’s one of the reasons this place stands out to me.

Those rice balls were actually one of the main reasons I wanted to come back. The mentaiko and takana flavors were my favorites—comforting and satisfying in the best way. And right beside the onigiri station was the order‑made omelet counter, where the staff prepared hot, fluffy omelets on the spot. Having both—the freshly shaped rice balls and a steaming omelet—made breakfast feel balanced and extra special.

I took my time at the buffet, sampling small portions of my favorite dishes one by one. Like I usually do at hotel breakfasts, I leaned toward the Japanese side of the spread—miso soup and natto are essentials for me, and they always make the meal feel complete.

My husband went for the bibimbap, a Korean rice dish with vegetables, meat, and a touch of gochujang. Mixing everything together made it hearty and flavorful, and he really enjoyed it as part of the buffet selection.

Finally, we finished breakfast with some pastries from the bakery, paired with great coffee. Since we’re a bit of coffee snobs, I was glad to see Hilton once again using high‑quality Nespresso machines. Their coffee is consistently rich and smooth, and it’s always one of the highlights of the morning for us.

Nespresso

We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet at Hilton Fukuoka—it was one of the highlights of our stay. I already miss their freshly made rice balls, especially the mentaiko and takana pickle flavors. They were simple yet so satisfying, the kind of comfort food that makes mornings feel special. And beyond the buffet, I also loved relaxing in their rock bath. Between the onigiri and the bath, Hilton Fukuoka gave us plenty of reasons to want to return.

Review: Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk – Gym Workout and Rock Bath Relaxation

Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk Fitness Center

As I mentioned in my previous entries, my husband and I visited Japan this March and stayed at the Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk. This was our third time staying at this hotel, so checking in already felt familiar and comfortable, almost like returning to a place we know well.

After unwinding for a bit in the Executive Lounge, we headed toward the fitness gym. We had eaten quite a lot at the lounge, so getting in some exercise felt like a good way to balance things out.

Guests staying at Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk have complimentary access to the gym area of the fitness center, which is open 24 hours a day. The pool area, however, requires an additional fee of 2,200 yen.

Fitness Center Hours

  • Gym Area: 24 hours

Fitness Center (5th Floor)

We arrived at the fitness center around 7 p.m. Near the entrance, there was a vending machine stocked with drinks.

The gym had two water dispensers, conveniently placed to encourage guests to stay hydrated before and after their workouts. In addition, a blood pressure monitor and a scale were available in the gym area.

When we arrived at the gym area, it was very calm and not crowded at all—just a few guests were working out. The space had plenty of equipment available. According to the Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk website, the fitness center is equipped with around 20 types of training machines, including the latest PRECOR models, along with a full set of dumbbells. Although the hotel website mentions PRECOR equipment, most of the machines in the gym were Technogym, which is commonly used in many Japanese fitness centers.

I chose the cross trainer for my aerobic workout—it’s my favorite machine because it works both the upper and lower body at once. I always use the cross trainer whenever I’m at a hotel gym, and the one here felt quite new and very comfortable to use.

My husband was exhausted that day—we had our ningen dock (人間ドック) in the morning, and moving to the hotel in the rain made the day feel even longer. He returned to the room to rest, while I stayed in the gym and spent about 30 minutes on the cross trainer. After that, I decided to head to the rock bath on the 7th floor on my own.

The Rock Bath, Public Bath (7th Floor)

The rock bath is located on the 7th floor of the hotel. Usually, there is a 1,760‑yen fee for hotel guests, but those staying on the 6th or 7th floors can use it at no cost. My husband has Hilton Diamond status, and during check‑in we received a complimentary voucher, so we were able to enter for free. Although this benefit isn’t clearly listed on the official website, it seems that guests in executive or suite rooms, as well as Diamond members, are also eligible for complimentary access.

Public Bath (Rock Bath) Hours

  • 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

  • 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

I headed to the rock bath around 8 p.m., and it was very peaceful. It stayed empty for most of my visit, likely because it was a weekday. I was able to unwind completely while soaking in the large rock bath. The facility provides towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and skincare products such as lotion, so all you need to bring is your complimentary ticket and a change of clothes.

The following morning, my husband went to the rock bath while I was working out at the gym after breakfast. He said he enjoyed it a lot and that there were only a few people there, making it a relaxing experience for him as well.

Overall

I truly enjoyed my time at the fitness gym. It was clean, well‑equipped, and comfortable, and working up a light sweat made me feel energized. The quiet rock bath was the perfect way to unwind afterward, leaving me refreshed and clear‑headed. If I have the opportunity to stay at Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk again, I will definitely return to both the fitness gym and the rock bath.

In my next post, I’ll be writing about the breakfast buffet at Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk.

Review: Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk Executive Lounge – Cocktail Time Experience (Spring 2026)

Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk Executive Lounge

This March, my husband and I returned to Japan and stayed once again at the Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk. It was our third visit, and by now the hotel feels pleasantly familiar.

One of the places we enjoyed most was the Executive Lounge on the 33rd floor. Guests in Executive Rooms or Suites, as well as Hilton Honors Diamond members, can relax here with complimentary food and drinks during Cocktail Time.

Below are the Executive Lounge hours for reference:

Executive Lounge Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Breakfast

  • Weekdays: 6:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

  • Weekends & Holidays: 6:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Refreshment Time

  • After breakfast until 5:00 p.m.

  • 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Cocktail Time

  • 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

The weather was rainy that day, so we headed to the Executive Lounge around 5 p.m. There were already a few guests inside, but the space still felt relaxed and far from crowded.

Cocktail Time

During Cocktail Time, the lounge serves a variety of light snacks, making it easy to enjoy a casual early‑evening bite.
Chocolate Cranberry Baguette and Graham Roll

Tomato Soup

Butter Chicken Curry

Fish Pakora

Vegetable Chow Mein

Tortilla Chips with Mentaiko Sour Cream, Hums and Chunky Salsa

Rice Kheer

Berry Shrikhand

Wine

We enjoyed trying so many different dishes. We noticed an Indian chef checking the food station, which probably explains why there were several Indian dishes available that evening. My husband especially liked the Indian curry, and I enjoyed the Indian dessert.

I’m always impressed that the menu at the Hilton Fukuoka Executive Lounge changes every time we visit. If you’re curious, you can take a look at my previous entries about this lounge here and here.

This time, we decided to try a small bottle of Asahi Zero, a 0% alcohol beer‑taste drink. It was my first time drinking it, and I was surprised that it really did taste like beer. For anyone who enjoys the flavor of beer but needs to avoid alcohol, it’s a good non‑alcohol option to keep in mind.

As for me, I’ve never been a big beer drinker, so one bottle was enough to satisfy my curiosity. In the end, I still prefer coffee or tea when I’m relaxing in the lounge. My husband enjoyed trying something different, but I was happy to go back to my usual warm drink afterward.

One thing I always appreciate at Hilton hotels is the high‑quality coffee. Their lounges consistently serve good coffee, and Hilton Fukuoka is no exception. They use Nespresso machines, and the flavor is rich, smooth, and reliably delicious. I really enjoyed my cup of coffee that evening—it was the perfect way to finish Cocktail Time.

Nespresso

We ended up eating quite a lot at the lounge because there were so many dishes we wanted to try. After relaxing for a while, we decided it would be a good idea to head to the gym to balance things out. I’ll write about our gym visit in my next entry.

Hotel Room Tour and Review – Twin Hilton High Floor Corner Room at Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk

As I mentioned in my previous entries, my husband and I visited Japan this March. After checking out of the ANA Crowne Plaza Fukuoka, we made our way to the Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk. This was our third stay at this hotel, so arriving here felt a little familiar and comforting.

At Hilton Fukuoka, we checked in at the lobby on the fourth floor. Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk is usually much calmer compared to Hilton properties in larger cities like Tokyo or Osaka, so the check‑in area always feels relaxed and unhurried. We had originally booked the most budget‑friendly room, but thanks to my husband’s Hilton Honors Diamond status, we were eligible for an upgrade based on availability. This time, we were lucky to be assigned a Twin Hilton High Floor Corner Room, which offers a brighter and more spacious layout than the standard High Floor rooms. They also handed me a couple of Mitomo facial essence masks at check‑in — a small surprise that I hadn’t received at other Hilton properties before, and it felt like a cute little extra touch.

Mitomo Facial Essence Masks

Some of the Perks of Hilton Honors Diamond Status

  • Complimentary continental breakfast — available for you and one registered guest each day of your stay. At this hotel, breakfast normally costs 3,600 yen per person, so our 7,200‑yen meals were completely free.

  • Executive Lounge access — where you can enjoy complimentary drinks and light meals during the day.

  • Space‑available room upgrades — we were upgraded from the most budget‑friendly room to a Twin Hilton High Floor Corner Room.

  • Premium Wi‑Fi throughout the hotel.

  • Complimentary public bath tickets — we received free entry to the rock bath on the 8th floor. These tickets normally cost 1,760 yen per person (3,520 yen for two), so this was a nice added benefit.

Twin Hilton High Floor Corner Room

We stayed in a Twin Hilton High Floor Corner Room on the 28th floor, which offered great views and plenty of natural light.

The moment I walked in, the room felt incredibly spacious and full of light, with two large windows stretching across two walls. Once I opened the curtains, the room became wonderfully bright. Even though it was a rainy day, the light from both windows still made the space feel open and inviting.

We were also able to enjoy a clear view of Fukuoka PayPay Dome from the window, which made the room feel even more special.

The other window offered a wide city view, stretching across the skyline and giving us a beautiful look over Fukuoka.

Niwaka Senpei (博多にわかせんぺい)

The welcome gift was Hakata Niwaka Senpei (博多にわかせんぺい), a classic Fukuoka treat with its charming mask design. We remembered watching the commercials when we were kids living in Fukuoka, and the moment we saw these, all those nostalgic memories came back.

Mini Bar

There was a mini bar counter equipped with a Nespresso coffee maker, along with four Nespresso pods neatly prepared for us.

Nespresso

Closet

Inside the large closet, we found two pairs of slippers and pajamas neatly prepared for us.

Bathroom

The bathroom was  clean and comfortably spacious for us.

Crabtree & Evelyn hand wash and body lotion were placed on the vanity.

The amenities were simple, with only a toothbrush, shaver, comb, Q‑tips, and cotton pads provided. It covered the basics we needed.

It featured a separate shower room and a bathtub, which made the space more convenient.

The shower room had Crabtree & Evelyn shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel set up.

Crabtree & Evelyn

The bathtub was pleasantly deep, perfect for a relaxing soak. Crabtree & Evelyn shower gel was set up beside it.

Crabtree & Evelyn

The toilet came with a washlet feature, which is quite standard in Japanese hotels.

Overall, we truly loved this room. It felt quite new, and it turns out it had been renovated not long ago. We also loved that it was a corner room with two large windows on separate walls, filling the space with light and making it feel wonderfully open and spacious.

This was our third time staying at this hotel, and each visit has given us a different room and a completely new impression. It’s one of the things that makes coming back here feel a little exciting.
