Starbucks You Are Here Collection Mug - New Mexico

      My husband and I have been collecting Starbucks You Are Here Collection Mugs which are only released locally. As I mentioned in my previous entry, my husband and I traveled in New Mexico during New Year's holidays this year, and we purchased this Starbucks You Are Here Collection New Mexico mug there. I was glad that we were able to add this mug to our collections! I'm going to share this New Mexico mug with you.

       When I traveled in New Mexico, I was amazed at the beautiful townscape there. As this mug shows, many of houses there were beautiful pueblo style houses with flat roofs.

Santa Fe, New Mexico

      Every year in October, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, the largest in the wold, turns Albuquerque into a riot of color.  Yucca flower is the state flower of New Mexico.

      The red mountain is probably Shiprock in San Juan county. The chili peppers are symbol of the New Mexico. Indeed, I saw many red chili ristras hung around entrances in Santa Fe.

Arts and Starbucks in Downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico - New Year's Travel Day 4 - 6/7

     During New Year's holidays, my husband and I went on a road trip for 5 days. On January 3, after visiting De Vargas Street House, the Oldest House, we took a walk around Downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico.

       Santa Fe is well known as a center for arts. There are many art galleries in this city. While walking around the city, we found many outdoor sculptures.

 

 

      Before leaving from Downtown Santa Fe, we stopped by Starbucks to purchase coffee and Starbucks You Are Here Collection New Mexico mugs. :)

     I always enjoy seeing interior design of Starbucks. Many Starbucks stores have modern industrial look, but each store has unique design. This Starbucks in Downtown Santa Fe had very unique industrial style chandeliers. The distressed red brick walls were so stylish. :)

     We ordered Starbucks Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha there. :)

      By the way, you can make peppermint white chocolate mocha latte at home. I uploaded this video on my YouTube channel last year. :)

      Then, we headed toward Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort in Flagstaff Arizona. I'll write about the resort hotel next time. :)

The Oldest House, De Vargas Street House, in Santa Fe, New Mexico - New Year's Travel Day 4 - 5/7

The Oldest House

       During New Year's holidays, my husband and I went on a road trip for 5 days. On January 3, after visiting Loretto Chapel, we went to De Vargas Street House, which is also called the Oldest House, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It was an old adobe structure first built in 1646 and is one of the oldest buildings in the U.S. Actually, it was previously alleged to be oldest house in the U.S.

      It was a small adorable house. There were two red chilli ristras hung around the cute blue entrance door.

        It was free to enter and see inside the house, which is now a museum with a small gift shop.

      It was very interesting to see one of the oldest houses in the U.S. Then, we walked around Downtown Santa Fe. I'll write about it next time.

Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe, New Mexico - New Year's Travel Day 4 - 4/7

      During New Year's holidays, my husband and I went on a road trip for 5 days. On January 3, after visiting Cathedral Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, we went to Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

      There was the famous unusual helix-shaped spiral staircase, the Miraculous Stair, in this chapel.

      The beautiful wooden stair was made without the use of nails or visible center support in the 1870s. Then, 10 years after it was built, the railing was added.

      There was a gift shop attached to this chapel. We found this beautiful white dove ornament there. I thought it's perfect for our Christmas tree.

 Every year, I decorate Christmas tree in my home, the dove ornament will remind me of our traveling in Santa Fe. :)

Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in Santa Fe, New Mexico - New Year's Travel Day 4 - 3/7

       During New Year's holidays, my husband and I went on a road trip for 5 days. On January 3, after having breakfast at Palacio Cafe, cozy Mexican restaurant in Downtown Santa Fe, we went to Cathedral Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, which is a Catholic church and is located very close to the restaurant.

      The heavy bronze entrance doors were very beautiful. According to Wikipedia, during the restoration of 1986, new doors were created, each with ten bronze panels that portray events in the history of the church in Santa Fe. Donna Quasthoff was the commissioned sculptor.

        

     We took off our caps when we entered the church. We were allowed to take photos inside. :) 

    The church was beautifully decorated for Christmas.

      We are not Catholics, but I felt very peaceful in this church. :)
