    This spring, my husband traveled to Japan to see the cherry blossoms. It was his first time experiencing spring in Japan since we moved to the U.S. many years ago.

    I visited Japan in the spring of 2014 and was completely mesmerized by the cherry blossoms in full bloom. That unforgettable experience inspired me to encourage my husband to visit Japan and enjoy hanami (花見), the beloved tradition of cherry blossom viewing, with his parents.

    Since our parents are elderly, we always make it a priority to see them whenever we visit Japan. It made me so happy that my husband and his parents were able to share this beautiful spring together.

    While he was in Japan, I ordered some Japanese products from Amazon Japan, and he brought them back to the U.S. for me. Anyway, today, I’m excited to share the items I purchased from Amazon Japan with you!

     This is my favorite Japanese moisturizer! Beauty experts in Japan often recommend the Hada Labo Gokujyun Aging Care Emulsion (肌ラボ 極潤 薬用ハリ乳液) as one of the best "nyueki" (emulsions) available at drugstores. It's packed with niacinamide, a powerhouse ingredient known for reducing fine lines and wrinkles while helping to prevent hyperpigmentation.

      Last year, I stocked up on it, but recently, I discovered that Amazon Japan was selling it at an even lower price—so of course, I couldn't pass up the chance to grab more!

     In a previous entry, I mentioned how much I love the Marna Bathroom Scrub Brush—it's been a game-changer for me! This time, I picked up the Marna Bathroom Cleansing Sponge on Amazon Japan. It's quite large and makes bathroom cleaning so much easier!

        As I mentioned in my previous entry, my husband and I visited Japan last year, and I purchased a lot of Japanese beauty products! Before visiting Japan, I always took time to research which products were trending and highly rated. In addition to exploring award-winning beauty products and top recommendations, I dove into countless Japanese reviews on @cosme, Amazon Japan, and YouTube videos. Based on all that information, I carefully selected what to add to my shopping list. This product used to be highly affordable, and I often found it on sale. However, when I visited Japan last year, I noticed that its price had increased by 65% compared to two years ago. Despite the rise, I still consider it an excellent makeup remover that's worth the price.

      When I stayed at a hotel in Haneda Airport, I visited Soradonki, a Donki discount store located there, and found these CICA Makeup Removing Wipes on sale. A set of two 28-sheet packs was only 298 yen, so I decided to give them a try. In my honest opinion, I love the MANDOM Bifesta Cleansing Sheet more than CICA Makeup Removing Wipes because CICA wipes contain less liquid. However, these wipes are made in Japan and do a great job of removing makeup.

3. Rohto Melano CC Premium Essence (ロート メラノCC しみ集中対策プレミアム美容液)

I noticed that my dark spots have gradually faded and become smaller over time. I'm always impressed that Rohto creates high-quality skincare products at such affordable prices!

        This Rohto Calamee Nosebum Gel was a sample included with my purchase of the Rohto Melano CC beauty serum. I really love this moisturizing gel, which has a mattifying effect and helps control oiliness. I apply this gel to my forehead, which tends to get greasy in the afternoon, and I’ve noticed that it becomes less oily and the gel effectively prevents shine.

This face mask is still one of my favorites, and I even order it from Amazon US sometimes, so picking it up during my trip was a no-brainer.

       I found that the Numbzin No.5 Sheet Mask (5番白玉グルタチオンCふりかけマスク) has gained immense popularity in Japan and even won the Best Face Mask Award of 2024 on @cosme. This face mask contains Liposomal Glutathione, nicotinamide, and vitamin C derivatives. According to many reviews, it effectively brightens skin tone and provides excellent moisture.

       When I was at Soradonki in Haneda Airport, I found that Biore UV Aqua Rich sunscreen was on sale for 598 yen. It has SPF50+, which is perfect for staying outside for extended periods on sunny days. I used to use sunscreens with SPF30, but I wanted one with SPF50 since I love spending weekends outdoors, enjoying activities such as hiking and running. While staying at a hotel in Haneda Airport, I purchased this sunscreen and tried it. I was surprised by its lightweight texture—it’s not greasy and moisturizes the skin despite having such high SPF protection. That’s why I went back to Soradonki to buy four more! If you’re looking for good sunscreens in Japan, I highly recommend this one!

This sunscreen is also quite popular in Japan. It boasts a high SPF, and many reviews highlight its exceptional ability to moisturize the skin. Rohto products never disappoint me—they are consistently effective and reasonably priced.

     I purchased this sunscreen, MK Protect Milk (MK プロテクトミルク), which is one of the store-brand products from Matsukiyo, a Matsumotokiyoshi drugstore. Matsumotokiyoshi is a well-known drugstore chain in Japan. Previously, I had tried their popular facial lotion, and it worked quite well for me. That’s why I wanted to give their sunscreen product a try.
