The Last Day of My Everyday Blogging - It's the 6th Anniversary!

I've updated my blog every day since November 22 in 2011, so today is the 6th anniversary of my everyday blog!
As I announced my decision about my everyday blog last month, I've finally finished my everyday blog today.  :) When I started my blog, I didn't expect that I would continue my everyday blog for such a long time! (At first, my goal was continuing my everyday blog for at least a year.)

These are my entries related to my blog.

Two Reasons Why I Decided to Finish My Everyday Blogging

U.S. Bloggers vs Japanese Bloggers

Starting tomorrow, I will update my blog when I want to share something with you. :)

What I Will Write About on My Blog
Actually, I will keep writing diverse themes on my blog just like I have done in the past six years.

Some readers left comments that they traveled Japan and purchased a lot of Japanese beauty products which I mentioned in my beauty entries. I am very glad that my Japanese beauty entries help some people who visit Japan. :) Actually, when I make Japanese shopping lists, I read back my entries and decide which ones I want to buy in Japan. My blog helps me as well. :) I'll continue to write about Japanese beauty products to discover excellent products of Japan some times.

I also received comments that some people cooked Japanese foods according to my cooking entries. When I cook something, I also check recipe from my cooking entry. These days, I've been using my Pinterest to find my cooking entries easier. Yesterday, I thought that I want to cook local cuisine of Southern Fukuoka, which is my hometown, next time. When I was a child, my grandmother used to cook some local dishes, and I loved her homemade foods. I'll write about those recipes in my cooking entries.

I will also write what I want to remember such as traveling which you might not be interested in. When I lived in Japan, my husband and I traveled a lot, but after years and years, we forgot where we visited. For instance, we loved skiing during winter in Japan. I remember that we often visited Biwako Valley for enjoying skiing in Shiga prefecture because it only took us two hours from our previous home in Osaka to Biwako Valley. We also visited some other places for skiing, but we forgot where we've gone. I asked him, " We also went to Gifu prefecture and enjoyed skiing. Haven't we gone to Nagano prefecture for skiing? " He said to me, "I don't remember about it at all. I think we didn't go to Nagano nor Gifu for skiing." He totally forgot about it even though he really loved skiing in Japan! We also enjoyed clam digging in Japan a few times, but we both forgot which prefecture we visited for it. We just remember that we could harvest a plenty of clams at a beach. The biggest reason why I want to keep my blogging is that it's very easy to remember where we visited and what I thought with checking my blog. :)

Thank you very much for visiting my blog. Have a happy Thanksgiving!

My Two Year Blog Anniversary

Today is the day of two year anniversary of my blog! I have been updating my blog everyday for two years to improve my English skills. :)

Looking back two years ago, I didn't like writing in English at all and hoped to improve my writing skill by trying my huge challenge, which was continuing my everyday blog at least for a year. I accomplished the goal a year ago and was able to notice that I had improved my English skills significantly by continuing to do so. After accomplishing my goal, I decided to keep doing it and hoped to improve my English skills more and more.

During the second year of my blogging, many things have changed in my life. I finally finished an upper advanced writing class, which was the last writing class at ESL level, with a good grade. I should give myself credit for it! However, it was not easy for me, and I was unsure if I could keep up with the class. That's why I tried to work harder than anyone else. Writing in English everyday on my blog helped me a lot, and I already got used to writing. Writing essays was much more difficult and complicated than my everyday blogging, but I didn't have to hesitate to write essays at least. I think that was a huge improvement! :) After finishing my writing class in May, I started studying for NCLEX seriously. I ended up passing NCLEX and got a RN license! That was my biggest accomplishment!

My English improvement has enabled me to accomplish my goals. Because I started learning English as an adult, it is very important for me to study and use English on a daily basis. Otherwise, it would be difficult to retain English and I will definitely forget after a short while. I'll continue my everyday blog for the next year. Hopefully, I will notice my English improvement a year after from now.

It's a Piece of Cake!

Today, I finally reached my goal which was continuing my blog everyday at least for a year. Yay!

Looking back over a year ago, I struggled with writing in English. Even though I got pretty good scores on my grammar tests, I found it difficult to write in English. Because I didn't use English at home, I didn't think in English at many daily situations. That's why I didn't know how to express in English out of school. Since I started my daily blog, I have been making mistakes. However, I could learn many things from my mistakes. Because I needed to review my day while I was writing my blog, I had a chance to think about many thing in English everyday. I learned many vocabularies and expressions from my blog, and I was able to organize my opinions in many situations with writing down my thoughts on my blog. The biggest change was that I became interested in writing in English and found a liking for it. As you may know, I used to dislike writing and felt stress, but now I don't feel stress at all, instead I enjoy it. It's because blogging became my favorite hobby without realizing. :)

Getting started on a blog in English is difficult for most English learner as a second language, and it involves a lot of commitment to continue it everyday. However, writing in English everyday will definitely be worth of your time. Because learning English is not miracle, you will never improve without working hard. Therefore,  persistence is crucial to improve your English. You may not imagine how much your English will improve in a year after from now. However, I'm sure if you continue to study hard, you can realize you have improved in the future.

Writing in English on my blog is not too difficult for me anymore. I can say with confidence that it's a piece of cake!
However, I need to improve my English skill more and more. I have decided to continue my everyday writing. It's because it gives no stress to me anymore, and I was able to realize that this is the most effective way to improve my English skill. I haven't decided on my next goal, but I will share it on my blog soon. :)

Here is my first entry.
