Huge Japanese Beauty Haul
When I was in Japan, Japanese yen was pretty low (1 USD was 141 yen at that time.), so everything I saw in Japan looked an incredible bargain to me.😂

6 Japanese Beauty Products I Purchased in Japan

Today, I'm going to share with you six more Japanese beauty products I purchased in Japan.

1. Panasonic Nanoe Nanocare Hair Dryer (パナソニック ヘアドライヤー ナノケア)

Hair Dryer

EH-NA9G

PN: Pink Gold

Purchased for 19,800 yen ($140.42) at Donki in Tokyo

Can be also purchased at most electronics retailers such as Bic Camera, Yodobashi Camera, and Yamada Denki in Japan.

Panasonic Nanoe Nanocare Hair Dryer (パナソニック ヘアドライヤー ナノケア)

One of the beauty products I really wanted to purchase in Japan was this hair dryer, Panasonic Nanoe Nanocare Hair Dryer. As I mentioned in my previous entry, Japan Haul - The Best Japanese Hair Dryer!, I purchased Pananasonic Nanocare Hair Dryer in Japan in 2016, and I really liked it. It's been six years since I purchased it in Japan, and it has been still working perfectly. However, I just wanted to replace it to new one before it broke. It's because I cannot live without Panasonic Nanocare hair dryer. It drys my hair faster and makes my hair smooth and soft.

Panasonic Nanoe Nanocare Hair Dryer (パナソニック ヘアドライヤー ナノケア)

As I mentioned in my previous entry, The Best Japanese Hair Dryer, Panasonic Nano Care Hair Dryer, Panasonic releases new hair dryer every year or so. They have been trying to make more and more effective hair dryers. This time, I purchased this pink gold hair dryer, EH-NA9G.

Panasonic Nanoe Nanocare Hair Dryer (パナソニック ヘアドライヤー ナノケア)

Thare are vents which nano ion, nanoe, comes from. Nano ion makes your hair smooth and beautiful. I also like the automatic hot and cold mode.

Panasonic Nanoe Nanocare Hair Dryer (パナソニック ヘアドライヤー ナノケア)

In Japan, Panasonic hair dryers are pretty expensive but have been very popular. Many Japanese people review that it's the best hair dryer ever they've used.

At Donki in Tokyo, there were many Panasonic hair dryers I could choose from.

Donki in Tokyo

If you buy a hair dryer in Japan and use it in the U.S., you have to know the voltage difference between Japan and U.S. The voltage in the U.S. is 110-120V, but the voltage in Japan is 100V. You might think you need to buy a transformer. However, I have never experienced any trouble with using Japanese electronics in the U.S. I think it's because the voltage difference between U.S. and Japan is little.

2. NIVEA UV Water Gel SPF35 PA+++ (ニベア ウォータージェル 35)

Sunscreen for Face and Body

SPF35 PA+++

Purchased 80g (2.8 oz) for 598 yen ($4.24) at Kokumin Drug in Tokyo

Can be also purchased at most drugstores and discount stores in Japan

NIVEA UV Water Gel SPF35 PA+++ (ニベア ウォータージェル 35)

I believe that wearing sunscreen every day is the most important and easiest skincare to make your skin look younger. If you are looking for the best sunscreen, you should really try Japanese sunscreen products.

I like using sunscreen with SPF around 30 because SPF 30 is high enough and gentle to your skin. This time, I purchased three bottles of NIVEA UV Water Gel SPF35 PA+++. Actually, I had also purchased Nivea sunscreen in Japan many times before. I really like the fact that it's very light texture. If you are planning on visiting Japan, you should try Nivea UV Water Gel sunscreen!

3. Rohto Sunplay Baby Milk SPF34 PA+++ (ロート メンソレータム サンプレイ ベビーミルク SPF34 PA+++)

Sunscreen for Face and Body

Waterproof

SPF34 PA+++

Purchased 30g (1 oz) for 298 yen ($2.11) at Kokumin Drug in Tokyo

Can be also purchased at most drugstores and discount stores in Japan

Rohto Sunplay Baby Milk SPF34 PA+++ (ロート メンソレータム サンプレイ ベビーミルク SPF34 PA+++)

I found this Rohto Sunplay Baby Milk at a drugstore in Tokyo and decided to purchase one. Rohto is one of the most famous Japanese cosmetic companies, and their popular products are Hada Labo, Melano CC and eye drops.  After purchasing this sunscreen, I found that many YouTubers review Rohto Sunplay sunscreen and they said this is affordable sunscreen but is just as effective as expensive Shiseido Anessa. I cannot wait to try one.

4. Unicharm Silcot Uruuru Cotton (ユニチャーム シルコット うるうるコットン)

Facial Cotton Pads

40 Pads

Purchased for 130 yen ($0.92) at Sun Drug in Tokyo

Can be also purchased at most drugstores in Japan

Unicharm Silcot Uruuru Cotton (ユニチャーム シルコット うるうるコットン)

I found this Unicharm Silcot Uruuru Cotton at a drugstore in Tokyo. I remembered that I wrote about this product in my previous entry, Top 3 Japanese Facial Cotton Pads, and I thought that I should try this one!

This is very popular cotton pads in Japan and has been highly rated on @cosme. Many Japanese people have been impressed at this product, which was very uniquely made like sponge cotton sheets, so you need only half amount the normal use of moisturizer (toner or lotion). If you are using expensive moisturizer like SK-II, this is definitely worth a try.

Unicharm Silcot Uruuru Cotton (ユニチャーム シルコット うるうるコットン)

After patting moisturizer on your entire face with this cotton pad, you can tear off along perforation and place them under eyes for using as facial masks. The outer line of this cotton is curved in order to fit your under eye lines.

This is my entry related to this product.

5. Lion Systema Toothbrush (ライオン システマ 超極細毛 歯ブラシ)

Manual Toothbrush

A41

Extra Thin Bristles

Purchased one for 178 yen ($1.26) at Sun Drug in Tokyo

Can be also purchased at most drugstores in Japan.

Lion Systema Toothbrush (ライオン システマ 超極細毛 歯ブラシ)

When I visit Japan, I always purchase some Japanese manual toothbrush. I really love Systema toothbrushes because the bristles of these toothbrushes are extremely thin (超極細毛), so the bristles can reach deep between gum and teeth.

Lion Systema Toothbrush (ライオン システマ 超極細毛 歯ブラシ)

If you have never used Systema toothbrush, you should really try one. You will see difference between ordinary toothbrush and Systema toothbrush once you use it.

Interdental Brushes

Size: 0 (SSSS) 0.6mm

Purchased this pack of 10 Interdental brushes for 333 yen ($2.36) at Sun Drug in Tokyo

Can be also purchased at most drugstores in Japan.

Dental Pro L-Shaped Interdental Brush (デンタルプロ L字型 歯間ブラシ)

When I was purchasing Systema toothbrushes at a drugstore in Tokyo, I also decided to purchase this Dental Pro L-Shaped Interdental Brush. This is the smallest size in their interdental brush.

Dental Pro L-Shaped Interdental Brush (デンタルプロ L字型 歯間ブラシ)

Actually, I didn't expect it too much before using it, but I really love it. Indeed, I can say that this is one of the best products I purchased in Japan, and now I feel that I should have purchased it more! If truth be told, I had never used interdental brush before, but after starting using this interdental brush every day, I feel that my gums are so much healthier than before. I cannot wait to go my next dental check up.

Cure Natural Aqua Gel - Japanese Exfoliator Loved by Foreign Tourists

As I mentioned in my previous entry, Top 10 Japanese Beauty Products Loved by Foreign Tourists in Japan, Cure Natural Aqua Gel is one of the most popular Japanese beauty products for foreign tourists visiting Japan. In Japan, Cure Natural Aqua Gel has won some beautify awards, but I think it's more popular outside Japan somehow. Indeed, it has so many reviews on Amazon US.

Cure Natural Aqua Gel (キュアー ナチュラル アクア ジェル)
Exfoliator
1200 yen for 100g
2700 yen for 250g
Can be purchased at drugstores in Japan

Cure Natural Aqua Gel
Cure Natural Aqua Gel is exfoliator which gently removes the outer layer of dead cells and makes your skin looking fresh and healthy. Many Japanese people review that it makes your skin smooth and silky, and your makeup looks better. After exfoliation, your skin tends to dry out, so be sure to moisturize your skin well right after using it.
Cure Natural Aqua Gel

How to Use Cure Natural Aqua Gel
1. After cleansing face, dry your face with towel.
2. Take one pump onto your dry fingertips. Apply it on your face. When the gel transforms to white liquid, gently massage it onto your face in circular motions for 30 seconds.
3. Rinse your face with lukewarm water.
Cure Natural Aqua Gel
・Use 1 to 2 times a week
・Can be used for entire your body (back, neckline, elbows, knees, heels and etc)
・Fragrance-free
・Preservative-free

Some Japanese people review that when you use it once or twice a week, one 250g-bottle lasts for a year, which is too long. Since it is preservative-free, ideally, it should be used up in six months after open. Now, Cure Natural Aqua Gel also has a smaller bottle (100g) in Japan, so if you want to try it for your first time, I recommend you to try a smaller bottle first.

I think that using it once a week (or less) is just right for most people. If you have dry skin or sensitive skin, do not use it too often. Your skin needs protective cells on the surface to keep natural moisture.

3 Best Luxury Japanese Facial Tissue

As I mentioned in my previous entry, Amazon Japan Haul - Sanitary Pads and Pantyliner, Japanese paper products such as diapers and sanitary pads are really well made and also really popular for wealthy Asian people. A few days ago, I read a Japanese article that Japanese pocket facial tissue is also popular for foreign tourists visiting Japan. Because Japanese high quality facial tissue is extremely smooth and soft, it's perfect souvenir from Japan. If you are planning on visiting Japan, you should check Japanese facial tissue there. Today, I'm going to share three best Japanese facial tissue products with you. All of them I listed below can be purchased at many drugstores in Japan. These are more expensive than regular facial tissue, but high-end ones are really popular for Japanese people who have allergies or cold. By the way, compared to the price of facial tissue in the U.S., two of them are not very expensive. :)

No.1 Nepia Hana Celeb (ネピア 鼻セレブ) by Oji (王子)
Hana Celeb Pocket Facial Tissue
16 pocket packs (12 counts each) of 2-ply facial tissue for about 300 yen

Oji Nepia released Hana Celeb in 2004. At that time, I thought that this facial tissue was a little pricey because of its cute packaging. However, it's not only cute but also is very soft and smooth. It contains moisturizing ingredients such as glycerine and sorbitol. Soon after Hana Celeb was released, it became very popular in Japan, and many people say that they used to have chapped noses from frequently blowing, but after starting using Hana Celeb, their noses doesn't hurt anymore because Hana Celeb is extremely soft! Every time you use Hana Celeb, the picture of adorable animal on the packaging makes you happy. :) I think this small pocket facial tissue is perfect for women, children and people who have allergies or cold. You can find Hana Celeb at drugstores and supermarkets in Japan. By they way, hana (鼻) means nose in Japanese. Celeb (セレブ) in Japanese comes from celebrities in English, but celeb in Japanese means rich or wealthy people. That's why your noses feel rich with high quality facial tissue like Hana Celeb.

Hana Celeb Facial Tissue
3 packs (200 counts each) of 2-ply facial tissue for about 600 yen

Oji Nepia also released this stylish facial tissue, Otona no Hana Celeb (大人の鼻セレブ), which has extra softness with extra moisturizing ingredients.

These are Anpanman Hana Celeb (アンパンマン 鼻セレブ).  Anpanman (アンパンマン) is popular Japanese animation for small children.

No. 2 Elleair Zeitaku Hoshitsu Lotion Tissues (エリエール 贅沢保湿ローションティシュー) by Daio Seishi (大王製紙)

Elleair Zeitaku Hoshitsu Lotion Tissue Pocket Facial Tissue
14 pocket packs (14 counts each) of 2-ply facial tissue for about 300 yen

If you think Hana Celeb is too cute, you can try Elleair Zeitaku Hoshitsu Lotion Tissue. Daio Seishi (大王製紙), Daio Paper Corporation, created these high quality facial tissue which contains moisturizing ingredients such as glycerine, collagen and hyaluronic acid. Elleair Zeitaku Hoshitsu Lotion Tissue has so many positive reviews and some people says it's actually better than Hana Celeb. By the way, zeitaku (贅沢) means luxury, and hoshitsu (保湿) means moisturizing.

Elleair Zeitaku Hoshitsu Lotion Tissue Facial Tissue
3 packs (200 counts each) of 2-ply facial tissue for about 600 yen

No. 3 Kleenex Shikou Kiwami (クリネックス 至高 極) by Nihon Seishi Crecia (日本製紙クレシア)
If you want to get the most extravagant Japanese facial tissue, try Kleenex Shikou Kiwami (クリネックス  至高  極). Hana Celeb is more expensive than regular Japanese facial tissue, but this Kleenex Shikou Kiwami is actually 8 times more expensive than Hana Celeb. You think Kleenex is American company, right? Nihon Seishi Crecia (日本製紙クレシア), Nippon Paper Crecia, also sells Kleenex products in Japan. However, Japanese Kleenex has unique products which you have never seen in the U.S. Each sheet of Kleenex Shikou Kiwami is made of 4 layers of high quality paper, so it feels very smooth and soft.

The packaging was designed by Japanese artisans. It was inspired by art of Japanese calligraphy (書道) and Japanese emblems (家紋).

Kleenex Shikou Kiwami has two types of design. Gold one is named Kinran (金襴), luxury traditional Japanese gold woven.
Kleenex Shikou Kiwami Pocket Facial Tissue

Black one is named Kurosuzuri (黒硯), a traditional Japanese inkstone.
Kleenex Shikou Kiwami Pocket Facial Tissue
2 pocket packs (12 counts each) of 4-ply facial tissue for about 300 yen

By the way, shikou (至高) means supreme, and kiwami (極) means ultimate in Japanese.

Kleenex Shikou Kiwami Facial Tissue
2 packs (140 counts each) of 4-ply facial tissue for about 2000 yen

3 Best Japanese Oil Blotting Papers, Aburatorigami

As I mentioned in my previous entry, Top 5 Life-Changing Japanese Beauty Products, I always keep oil blotting papers in my on-the-go makeup bag. Oil blotting papers are called aburatorigami (あぶらとり紙) in Japanese. Abura (あぶら/油) is oil, tori (とり/取り) is to remove, and gami (紙) is a paper. As its name, it's a just paper to remove oil from your face. When my face gets greasy hours after makeup, I just press it on my face. It absorbs oil, and my makeup looks fresh and clean again. :)

When you visit Japan, you can find so many oil blotting paper products everywhere such as drugstores, convenience stores and Dasio. You can also find a few products at gift shops in Airports in Japan. You might think it's just paper, but I can say that all of them are not the same.

Today, I'm going to share three best Japanese oil blotting papers which are highly rated on Amazon Japan and @cosme, a huge Japanese cosmetic review site.

No.1 Yojiya Aburatorigami (よーじや  あぶらとり紙)
20 sheets - 323 yen
Yojiya Aburatorigami (よーじや  あぶらとり紙)
Yojiya (よーじや) is the most famous oil blotting paper brand in Japan. Yojiya was established in Kyoto in 1904. Their products cannot be found at many stores in Japan, but I believe that most women in Japan know this product because it has been often mentioned in many beauty magazines and travel guide books of Kyoto. It is often introduced as the best souvenir from Kyoto in those books. When I lived in Osaka, I traveled Kyoto so many times. Even though it's pretty pricy (It contains only 20 sheets!), I purchased it there anyway because it's incredibly famous! When I first used it, I was impressed that it removed excess oil really well. The paper was nice and thick, so it didn't tear while I was using it. :) Then, when I traveled Kyoto, I purchased it again and again. :) As I mentioned above, you cannot find this products everywhere in Japan. They have 13 branches in Kyoto and one branch in Osaka. If you travel Kyoto, you really should check Yojiya Aburtorigami there. You can also find their products at gift shops in Haneda, Narita and Kansai Airports.
By the way, now they have Yojiya Cafe! Yojiya Cafe have 5 branches in Kyoto and 1 branches in Tokyo. Haneda Airport has Yojiya and Yojiya Cafe. If you find their cafe, try their popular matcha cuppuccino.
Yojiya Matcha Cuppccino

No.2 DHC Aburatorigami (DHC あぶらとり紙 大判タイプ)
200 sheets - 500yen
DHC Aburatorigami (DHC あぶらとり紙)
DHC Aburatorigami is also popular in Japan because it's larger than regular oil blotting paper. The size is 95mm×135mm. It contains 200 sheets. Many people review that even if you have oily skin, one sheet is just large enough to get rid of greasy oil from your face. Many convenience stores in Japan carry DHC products, but this large DHC Abratorigami can be only purchased at DHC branches. Some DHC branches are located in Aeon Malls and Ito-Yokado supermarkets.

No.3 Muji Kami Oshiroi (無印良品 紙おしろい)
60 sheets - 210 yen
Muji Kami Oshiroi (無印良品 紙おしろい)
Oshiroi (おしろい) means makeup powders in Japanese, but this term is probably only used for abratorigami now. Japanese abratorigami has two types, abratorigami and kami oshiroi (紙おしろい). Regular one, which is called abratorigami, is non powder. Abratorigami with loose powder is called kami oshiroi. When your face gets greasy hours after makeup and want to refresh your makeup, just press this kami oshiroi on your face. It absorbs oil and leave a little powder on your face. You don't have to carry your setting powder around anymore.
Muji Kami Oshiroi (無印良品 紙おしろい)
Many Japanese cosmetic companies including Shiseido are selling kami oshiroi, but Muji one is affordable and has many positive reviews in Japan. Muji Kami Oshiroi can be found at Muji (無印良品) branches. Muji stores are everywhere in Japan. If you go to Japan, you should check out Muji store there. By the way, Narita Airport has two Muji branches. You can also check out my previous entry, Must Go to Place in Japan - Muji part 1, and my entries related to Muji can be seen here.

5 Popular Japanese Travel Skincare Sets You Can Purchase at Convenience Stores in Japan

When you travel in Japan, you really should check out Japanese convenience stores. In Japan, convenience stores are literally everywhere especially in a big city like Tokyo. One of the reasons why Japanese convenience stores amaze you is that they have high quality foods such as rice balls, bento boxes, desserts and so on. If you are a girl, their beauty products also catch your eye. Japanese convenience stores have popular Japanese beauty products which are often seen on Japanese beauty magazines.
Fancl Skincare Products at Lawson Convenience Store
Lawson has Fancl skincare products.
Family Mart has Muji and Kanebo Media products.
Seven Eleven has Fancl Botanical Force, Kose Sekkisui and ParaDo products.

Actually, some of them can be purchased only at convenience stores. :)

Japanese convenience stores also have small travel sizes of skincare products which are perfect for an overnight travel. Because most Japanese convenience stores open 24/7, you can purchase them whenever you need even at midnight.  When you travel in Japan, you actually don't have to bring your skincare products because you can purchase small sizes of Japanese skincare products at affordable prices there.

Today, I'm going to share with you five Japanese travel skincare sets you can purchase at convenience stores in Japan. If you are planning on visiting Japan, you should check them out there. You can purchase some of them at convenience stores and try them during your travel in Japan. If you like it, you can purchase a whole bottle of it at drugstores before leaving from Japan. :)

1. DHC - One-Night Stay Travel Set (DHC 1泊分 おとまりセット)

DHC

2 Packs of Oil Makeup Remover
3 Packs of Facial Cleansing Powder
