Must Go to Places in Namba - Our Traveling in Osaka, Japan

     As I mentioned in my yesterday's entry, my husband and I traveled in Osaka in 2013. We used to live in Osaka for many years and often went to Namba for dining, sightseeing, and shopping. In 2013, we decided to travel in Osaka and walked around Namba just as we used to do before. :)

    After getting off the train at JR Namba station, we headed toward Americamura. As you may know, Namba has many takoyaki stores. The most popular ones are Kogaryu, Wanaka, and Odako. Specifically, we love Kogaryu and Wanaka, which are located in Americamura. We went to Kogaryu to buy takoyaki and takosen.

     One plate of takoyaki was around 300yen, which is equivalent to $3. It was very hot and creamy. You can buy takoyaki anywhere in Japan, but takoyaki in Osaka has the best taste!

      We also bought Takosen, which is made of two takoyakis and two rice crackers. It was around 100yen ($1). I first ate takosen when I was 18. Before then, I had never seen and eaten one in Southern Japan, which is my hometown. The outside of the takosen is crispy, and the inside of it is very creamy. Since I was 18, I have always eaten one when I go to Namba. If you have a chance to go to Americamura, you should try takosen.

     We ate them at Triangle Park. This park is very small and nothing special, but you might see many people who are eating takoyaki there.

       I used to shop at Big Step, which is fashion mall.

    Then, we went to Dotonbori. As we were walking across the Ebisu Bridge, we saw Glico man, which is the giant electronic display of a runner crossing the finish line.

     Kani Doraku Crab is also one of famous landmarks in Dotonbori. This huge crab is moving slowly.

     Kuidaore Taro is famous clown in Dotonbori. I used to use the keychain with Kuidaore Taro. It was also perfect for souvenir.

     Osaka Osho is one of famous gyoza restaurants in Osaka.

      We were not hungry but couldn't resist eating Kamukura Ramen.

     Inside of the restaurant, there were many signatures of famous Japanese celebrities.

       Then, we walked around Hozenji Yokocho.

      We walked along cobbled streets. Unlike bustling Dotonbori, Hozenji Yokocho is a very quiet street and has the traditional atmosphere of Japan.

      We went to 551 Horai, which is popular Chinese restaurant. I always buy Butamans, pork buns.

     Then, we went to Muji store, which is one of my favorite stores in Japan. Muji Namba branch is very spacious and has Muji cafe, which is pretty rare.

     After walking for long distance, we got very tired. We got rest for a while at Muji cafe. We chose Chai tea and ryukyu coffee.
