I cooked this Japanese simmered chicken wings referring to this YouTube video. It has sweet and salty say sauce flavor. It's like teriyaki flavor with a hint of sour. If you like chicken teriyaki taste, I think that you might like it.
By the way, in Japan, chicken wings are called tebasaki (手羽先) and tebamoto (手羽元).

Today, I'm going to share with you how I cooked Japanese simmer chicken wings. People in Japan sometimes add boiled eggs or Japanese radish to simmered chicken wings. This time, I added boiled eggs to it.

Ingredients (2 Servings)
1/2 Tablespoon of Oil
8 to 12 Chicken Wings
50 ml of Water
3 Tablespoons of Soy Sauce
2 Tablespoons of Sake
2 Tablespoons of Sugar
100 ml of Vinegar
4 cloves of Garlic (Cut in Half)
4 to 8 Eggs
1. Score the center of the chicken wings.
2 Heat oil in a large flying pan over high heat. Place the chicken wings skin-side down.
3. When the skins are browned, flip them. Reduce the heat to medium low heat.
4. Add water, soy sauce, sake, sugar, vinegar, and garlic in it.
5. Cover the lid. Simmer them over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes.
6. Make half boiled eggs.
7. Add the eggs into it. Flip the chicken and eggs occasionally.
8. When the sauce has reduced and texture is thickened, turn off the heat.
9. Serve and enjoy!
