How To Make Spooky Halloween Jack-O'-Lantern with Dry Ice

Last weekend, my husband and I made some Halloween Jack-O-'Lanterns. This spooky smoking pumpkin Jack-O'-Lantern was one of them. I'm going to share with you how we made it.

1. What You'll Need

・Fresh Pumpkin
・Pumpkin Carving Saw
・Kinfe
・Ice Cream Scoop
・Pencil
・Paper
・Scissors
・Scotch Tape
・Poker
・LED Candles
・Safety Goggles
・Gloves
・Tongs
・Container
・Dry Ice

We bought 3 lb of dry ice for $1.49 per pound at our local Albertsons after finishing carving a pumpkin.

2. Carve Out the Top
Cut a hole on the top of your pumpkin with a carving saw. Make sure the hole will be large enough for your hand to reach through. Make a V-shaped notch at back. It will serve as a guide to replace the lid.

3. Clean and Scrape
Dig out all of the guts and seeds with an ice cream scoop.

4. Make the Pumpkin Pattern
Draw your design on paper for your pumpkin pattern.

Trim off the excess paper around the design, and cut around the pattern.

Tape the pattern onto your pumpkin.

5. Transfer Pattern
Poke holes to outline the pattern with a poker. Remove the pattern and tape from your pumpkin.

6. Carve Design
Cut on the dots with a carving saw.

7. Light It Up
Place LED candles inside the pumpkin.

8. Dry Ice Fog Effect
Place the container with water inside the pumpkin. Put on goggles and gloves. Pick up the dry ice with tongs, and put it into the water. Cover the top of your pumpkin.
