Amazon Japan Convenience Store Pickup at Lawson - New Year's Japan Travel Day 2

My husband and I traveled Japan during this New Year's holidays. As I mentioned in my previous entry, after shopping at Don Quijote, which is one of the biggest Japanese discount chain stores, we went back to the hotel. On our way back to the hotel, we stopped by Lawson convenience store to pick up packages we ordered from Amazon Japan. The convenience store was located very close to the hotel we stayed in. It took us only one minute from the hotel to the store by walk. :)

Pick Up Packages at Lawson Convenience Store
Four days before we flew to Tokyo from Los Angeles, we ordered some items on Amazon Japan. Next day, we received a delivery notification email. The email had a tracking number, an authentication number and a link to access the bar code (only available for Lawson pick-up).

We brought our iPad to the Lawson in order to show the bar code. (The email read that show this page on your smartphone to a Lawson staff. Ask the staff to scan the bar code. ) A cashier scanned the bar code, and we received the packages. It only took several seconds. It was very fast and super easy! :) I thought that Lawson is easier than other convenience stores to pick up items you ordered from Amazon Japan because you don't need to use a convenience store terminal, which might confuse you a little if you cannot read Japanese. Just show the bar code on your smartphone. That's it! :) If you don't have a smartphone or tablet computer to show the bar code, you can use a convenience store terminal to print a pick-up ticket.

How to Pick Up Your Amazon Japan Order at Lawson Convenience Store

With Smartphone or Tablet Computer
1. Access a delivery notification email which has a pick-up bar code link. Show the bar code to a Lawson staff.
2. The staff scans the bar code.
3. Receive your items.

Without Smartphone nor Tablet Computer
1. Go to a convenience store terminal in Lawson.
2. Enter the tracking number (お問い合わせ番号) and an authentication number (認証番号) in order to print out pick-up ticket.
3. Take the ticket to a Lawson staff.
4. Receive your items.
