Tokyo Monorail Haneda Airport to Hamamatsucho - New Year's Japan Travel Day 2

My husband and I traveled Japan during this New Year's holidays. As I mentioned in my previous entry, after having early lunch at Haneda Airport Domestic Terminal, we headed toward Tokyo Monorail Haneda Airport Terminal 1 station.

There was a Kokumin Drugstore (KoKuMiN羽田空港店) located in this station. I wanted to buy some Japanese facial sheet masks in Japan, and I eventually purchased this Keana Nadeshiko Rice Mask because as I mentioned in my previous entry, 3 Best Facial Sheet Masks Loved in Japan This Year, it was one of the most popular facial sheet masks in Japan in the year.

Because of its extreme popularity, when I found it at this store, it was limited to two per customer indeed. I was glad that I purchased it there at that time because it was sold out at all stores I visited in Tokyo.

Then, we got on a monorail at Tokyo Monorail Haneda Airport Terminal 1 Station and headed toward JR Hamamatsucho station. It only took 16 minutes to go there by a monorail and cost 490 yen per person. :)

After we got off the monorail, we walked through World Trade Center located just next to the JR Hamamatsucho station. There were too many people who looked like working there coming out from elevators. I thought, "I see. It's around noon. It's lunch time for them." However, it was too strange to me. "Why do they look so happy?"  After a while, I realized that it was December 28! It was the last work day of the year for many people in Japan. No wonder they were so happy! New Year's holidays are the most important holidays for Japanese people. Many people have a long vacation during New Year's holidays (It depends on companies you work for, but it's usually from December 29 through January 3.).

Then, we went to Mitsui Garden Hotel Shiodome Italia Gai, which we would stay in for three nights.  It took us 10 minutes to the hotel from JR Hamamatsucho station by walk. You can check out my entry, Hotel Room Tour and Review - Mitsui Garden Hotel Shiodome Italia Gai - Tokyo, Japan, for this hotel. After checking in to the hotel, we headed toward Don Quijote, which is also called Donki and one of the biggest Japanese discount chain stores. I'll write about it next time.
