Erick Schat’s Bakkery - Bishop, California

My husband and I stayed at a motel in Bishop on our way to Lake Tahoe. His coworker had told him that there were some pretty good places to eat in Bishop. This bakery, Erick Schat’s Bakkery, was one of her recommendations. As soon as we arrived in Bishop, we decided to go there.

However, they were already closed at 6:35 p.m. when we arrived there, so we decided to go there next morning.

We came back there at 9 a.m. We were surprised that the parking lot was congested already.

The inside of the store was so many people. There were long lines at sandwich bar and coffee bar with dessert bakery. Instead of a made-to-order sandwich, we bought a ready made sandwiche without waiting so long, and it looked very fresh! :) The inside store was packed with loaves of fresh bread, honey, fruit jam, beef jerky and so on. Some people were buying so many loaves! I thought that their products must be so good. I'm going to share with you what I bought there. :)

We decided to buy this huge Pecan Pullaway for $7.50. It was bigger than my face!

On our way to Lake Tahoe, we tried this and was so good. :) It was nice and sweet!

We also bought this Mule Kick Sandwich for $9.25. After we arrived in Lake Tahoe, we had it for our lunch.

Next day, we stopped by Erick Schat’s Bakkery on our way home from Lake Tahoe again. We bought their Roast Beef Sandwich for $8.95 for our lunch.

It was also so fresh and good!

We bought some other products there.

We bought this 16 oz bottle of pure honey for $8.15 because my husband's coworker recommended this. There were two kinds of honey which were wildflower honey and clover one. We chose clover one.

There were some samples of bread and fruit jam at the bakery, and I really liked this red raspberry jam, so I decided to buy it. This 10 oz jar of Clearbrook Farms Red Raspberry Preserves was $5.50.

My husband was going to buy their famous sheepherder bread, but he ended up choosing this 100% Deluxe Raisin Bread with Walnuts for $5.50 because it looked sweeter. Yes, he has a sweet tooth.

We really liked this raisin bread especially crunchy walnuts. :)

Since we came back home, we have had their Pecan Pullaway with black coffee. :)

When we bought these, the cashier gave us chocolate chip cookies for free. :)

If we have a chance to go to Bishop again, we will definitely stop by Erick Schat’s Bakkery.

  1. Hi! Just wanted to let you know that I think the name of the bakery is Erick Schat, not Schal. I love stopping by there whenever visiting Tahoe as well!
