What I Ate at Haneda Airport Domestic Terminal - New Year's Japan Travel Day 2

My husband and I traveled Japan during this New Year's holidays. As I mentioned in my previous entry, we enjoyed shopping at Bic Camera located in Haneda Airport International Terminal. After that, we went to Haneda Airport Domestic Terminal by a free shuttle bus because we needed to go to Haneda Airport post office which is located only in the domestic terminal. Then, we decided to have early lunch there.

I found that there was Patisserie Kihachi there. As I mentioned in my previous entry, The Best Soft Serve Ice Cream in Japan - KIHACHI, when we lived in Osaka, we sometimes went to Abeno Hoop for shopping, and we always had Kihachi soft serve there. We also had lunch and dinner at Kihachi restaurant once in a while. (By the way, the Kihachi branch at Abeno Hoop closed in 2016.)   Because I loved their descent soft serve, I decided to go to Kihachi to enjoy it for the first time in years!
Kihachi Soft Serve Ticket Vending Machine
There was a ticket vending machine right next to the Kihachi counter, you can buy a ticket for your soft serve. Insert coins or bills and push the soft serve ticket button you want to have. Give your ticket to a staff at the Kihachi counter. The staff will ask you how you would like to have your soft serve. You can choose soft serve cone or a paper cup.

I chose Chocolate & Vanilla (チョコレート&バニラ) soft serve with a cone. It tasted as good as I expected! :)

My husband chose Black Sesame & Milk soft serve (黒胡麻&ミルク) with a cone. If you are new to Japanese food, you might think black sesame soft serve tastes too Japanese to you. I recommend their milk soft serve (ミルク), which tastes like real milk and is slightly sweet.

Then, we went to Tokyo Chef's Kitchen Food Court located on the Basement 1 in Haneda Airport Domestic Terminal 1. At the food court, there were about five food court restaurants. We decided to have tonkatsu from Tonkatsu Ginza Bairin (とんかつ 銀座 梅林) there. As I mentioned in my previous entry, My Top 15 Must Eat Foods in Japan - My Favorite Japanese Foods, tonkatsu is deep-fried cutlets and is one of my favorite Japanese foods. Tonkatsu is also popular for foreign tourists who visit Japan. You can check out my previous entry, Top 10 Most Popular Japanese Foods. :)

I ordered this deep-fried pork fillet combo (ヒレカツライス定食) for 910yen.

Their tonkatsu was so good! I also liked their wafu salad dressing! :)

After that, we got on a monorail at Tokyo Monorail Haneda Airport Terminal 1 Station and headed toward Hamamatsucho station. I will write about it next time. :)
