How to Make Strawberry Ice Cream without an Ice Cream Maker

When I was child in Japan, my next-door neighbors were strawberry farmers. They have been growing the most popular strawberry breed, Hakata Toyonoka, which is sweeter than U.S. strawberries. I really loved their delicious strawberries. When strawberry season came, they often brought a lot of strawberries in huge boxes to give to my family. That's why fresh strawberries were always in our refrigerator during the season. Their freshly-picked strawberries were so tasty, and we also enjoyed strawberry ice cream and jam which my mother and grandmother made. :)

Here in the U.S., I also enjoy having strawberries especially during its season. These days, strawberries have been on sale for less than $1 for a 1 lb pack at my local grocery stores. That's why I bought a lot of strawberries a few weeks ago. These reminded me of my childhood memories, so I decided to make homemade strawberry ice cream. As I expected, it turned out so delicious. :) My husband really liked it. I can say that it was more delicious than commercial ice cream. I always make it without an ice cream maker. I'm going to share how to make strawberry ice cream with you.
