Before and After Door Stop - Installed A New Magnetic Door Stop

 

         If you have been following my blog for years, you probably know that my husband and I purchased our outdated home in 2016. We had really wanted to purchase outdated home to experience home renovation, and indeed, we've done a lot of renovations since then, and our home has a newer look now. You can check out my previous entries related to home renovations. One of the easiest projects we've done was replacing spring door stops. (By the way, replacing outlet cover plates was also easiest one. )

Magnetic Door Stop Can Prevent Damage on Wall and Hold Door Open

         As I mentioned in my previous entry, How to Install A Spring Door Stop, we replaced spring door stops in 2016, and those look still excellent. However, we found it difficult to keep open our home office door even though other doors have no problem. Spring door stops help prevent damage to walls when opening a door but cannot keep door open. That's why we decided to replace the spring door stop to a new magnetic door stop.

        I finally ordered this Lizavo Stainless Steel Magnetic Door Stop from Amazon. Today, I'm going to share how we installed this magnetic door stop.

How to Install Magnetic Door Stop

What You'll Need

A New Magnetic Door Stop (I installed a Lizavo door stop.)

Painters Tape

A Ballpoint Pen

A Power Drill

Drill Bit (1/16")

Screw Drivers  

 

1. 【Baseboard】Before drilling, cover the space on the baseboard with tape and mark the location with pen.  

 

 2. Drill the hole with a modest drill bit. Then, remove tape.

 

3. Screw in the plate.

 

 4. Screw the door stop body onto it.

 

 5. 【Door】Cover the space on the door with tape and mark the location with pen. Drill the hole with a modest drill bit. Then, remove tape.

 

 6. Screw in the plate.

 7. Turn the spring into the mounting plate. Turn clockwise to tighten it down.

 

It was easy to install, and the new door stop can hold the door open perfectly. 😊
