Walking from Ginza to Shinbashi - New Year's Japan Travel Day 5

      My husband and I traveled Japan during New Year's holidays. As I mentioned in my previous entry, after enjoying Muji cafe, located on the second floor of Muji Yurakucho, we headed toward Ginza (銀座), Tokyo. We took a walk along the main street of Ginza and went to Shinbashi (新橋).

     We found that there was a huge inu hariko (犬張子) decorated at the entrance of Mitsukoshi Ginza department store in order to celebrate coming New Year, which is the year of the dog. Hariko (張子, 張り子) is a traditional Japanese paper doll. Inu (犬) means a dog in Japanese.

        As I mentioned in my previous entry, 6 Popular Products form Shiseido Parlour Shop - Shiseido Parlour Ginza Tokyo (Shiseido Restaurants, Cafe and Confectionery Store), Shiseido is not only a Japanese cosmetic company, but they also have restaurants, cafe and confectionery stores in Japan. In 1902, Shiseido first started selling soda fountain and ice cream in Ginza, Tokyo. In 1928, they also started restaurant business, Shiseido Parlour (資生堂パーラー).

         I wanted to visit Ginza Shiseido Building, but they were closed that day because of New Year's holiday. I purchased some Shiseido chocolate at Haneda Airport later though. ;)

      We purchased some fish snacks at Setouchi Sunsaikan (せとうち旬彩館), which is a store  selling local products of Setouchi (瀬戸内) area such as Kagawa prefecture (香川県) and Ehime prefecture (愛媛県).

     We decided to have sushi at Tukiji Sushiko (築地すし好) located near by Shinbashi station. I'll write about it next time. :)
