Daiso Haul

Yesterday, I shared with you some high-rated Daiso products and interesting products I found at my local Daiso through my yesterday's entry. Today, I'm going to share two Daiso products I purchased there with you. :)

■Daiso Oil Blotting Paper
My favorite Muji oil blotting paper is running out, so I wanted to get new one. At Daiso, I was interested in this oil blotting paper, Daiso Face Paper Sumi, since I knows that charcoal, which is called sumi (炭) in Japanese, is good for skin. I had never tried charcoal oil blotting paper before, so I decided to purchase it.  :) By the way, oil blotting paper is called aburatorigami in Japanese. Abura (油) is oil, tori (取り) is to remove, and gami (紙) is a paper.
Daiso Face Paper Sumi, 炭のパワーでサラサラ肌 超吸収あぶらとり紙
This oil blotting paper was made from Mino washi, which is traditional Japanese paper made in Gifu prefecture, Japan. :)

       The packaging looks cheap though.

However, I was impressed that the oil blotting paper is black, which is the color of charcoal! :) The size of paper is 9cm x 9cm (3.5 inches x 3.5 inches), which is pretty large. I used it for my first time just now. It removes excess oil well, and what I liked it was it is nice and thick, so it didn't tear while I was using it. :)

■Daiso Silicone Rice Ball Case
I also purchase this silicone rice ball case, Daiso Easy Rice Ball Packer L, because I found that it has many positive reviews in Japan.
Daiso Easy Rice Ball Packer L, シリコーン 簡単おにぎりパック大
You can store steamed rice in it in freezer, and microwave it for fresh rice ball. You can take it to your office or school for lunch. :)
Daiso Easy Rice Ball Packer L, シリコーン 簡単おにぎりパック大
You can put about 120g of steamed rice in it. It says it is large size, but my husband says it's pretty small, and he needs two at least for his lunch.

Because it is made of silicone, it is nice and soft. :)

I can't wait to use it for my first time! :) If it works well, I would like to purchase one more.

Shopping at Daiso - What Daiso Japan Sells in the U.S.

Yesterday, my husband and I went to Daiso, which sells most products for $1.50 each. Daiso branches in the U.S. don't have as many diverse products as ones in Japan have, and indeed, some products are only available at Daiso in Japan. However, I found some high-rated Daiso products and interesting products there yesterday. I'm going to share what I found there with you.

These are Natural Henna, hair dye powder. As I mentioned in my previous entry, Top 3 Most Popular Daiso Hair Products, these have many positive reviews in Japan. Daiso Natural Henna can dye sliver/grey hair really well.
Daiso Natural Henna

These are Daiso Hair Rollers, which are sponge hair curlers. As I mentioned in my previous entry, These are currently the most popular hair product of Daiso in Japan.
Daiso Hair Rollers

These are Daiso Non Slip Mat, which is non adhesive shelf liner. These seem useful to stay tools in place in kitchen drawers.
Daiso Non Slip Mat

These wastebaskets look inspired by Kate Spade. :)
Daiso Wastebaskets

They sell many oil blotting papers. As I mentioned in my previous entry, Top 5 Life-Changing Japanese Beauty Products, oil blotting paper is essential beauty item for me.
Daiso Oil Blotting Papers

These contains 300 sheets of oil blotting paper. When I purchase these products at Daiso, I prefer to buy one contains less numbers of papers. I think 300 sheets are too much. It would last too long, but the package would be worn out soon.
Daiso Oil Blotting Papers (300 sheets)

These contains 100 sheets of oil blotting papers. These are made from Minou washi (美濃和紙), which is traditional Japanese paper made in Gifu prefecture, Japan. I think these are good quality.
Daiso Oil Blotting Papers (100 sheets)

I was interested in Daiso Sumi Face Paper, charcoal oil blotting paper. Charcoal is called sumi in Japanese. As I mentioned in my previous entry, Top 5 Most Popular Japanese Charcoal Soap, charcoal is used in many beauty items in Japan since it absorbs bad odors and chemical. These paper is also made from Mino washi, so it's good quality and usually expensive paper.
Daiso Sumi Face Paper, Oil Blotting Papers (100 sheets)

These are facial sheet masks. Each package contains 7 sheets of facial mask, so you can use one sheet a day for a week. It's very inexpensive! :) If you are interested in Japanese facial sheet masks, you can check out my previous entry, The Most Popular Facial Sheet Masks in Japan.
Daiso Facial Sheet Masks (7 Sheets)

If you are not Japanese, you might not need these because you don't eat steamed rice every day, right? Since I am Japanese, I was really interested in these products. These silicone rice ball cases actually have many positive reviews in Japan. You can put steamed rice in it. Then, freeze it, so you don't need plastic wrap to store rice in freezer. When you want to eat a rice ball, just microwave it for minutes. Many people reviews that they microwave it in morning, and take it to their office or school for lunch. It's very convenient for people who want to eat rice for lunch like me. :)

Tomorrow, I'll share what I bought there with you. :)

Everyday Swimming - Day 7

It's been 7 days since my husband and I started to go swimming in our apartment's pool every day this month. Now, it's day 7, and we've gone swimming there 7 days in a row. :) I swim for 350 meters (1,148 feet) each day. In total, I've swum for 2,450 meters so far. Swimming is a great way to build muscle. I've already noticed that I was able to tone up my muscles. :)

Sometimes, there are no people except for us there. :)
We will keep up this challenge! ;)

Top 5 Japanese Eye Drops

Rohto Lycee  ロート リセ

When I lived in Japan, my favorite eye drops were Rohto Lycee. The reason why I loved Rohto Lycee was that it reduces eye redness instantly. Moreover, it's pink and has a cute packaging, which are perfect for girls. :) After moving to the U.S., my Taiwanese friend told me how much she loved Rohto Lycee. I was very surprised that she has ever tried it because she has never lived in Japan. She read Japanese fashion magazines in Taiwan and actually really knows many Japanese beauty products, Japanese actors and Japanese cultures, but I didn't expect that she also knew Japanese eye drops! She told me that when she traveled Japan, she bought a lot of Rohto Lycee eye drops at drugstores because it's very affordable and popular in Taiwan, so it's perfect for souvenir from Japan. These years, the number of visitors to Japan has been increasing, and I often heard that Japanese eye drops have been very popular for foreign tourists in Japan. Today, I decided to share top 5 Japanese eye drops which you can purchase at drugstores in Japan. If you are planning on traveling Japan, you should check these out there. :)

2 Best Japanese Hair Dryers

Technology has been improving your beauty life. Many people think that the heat of hair dryer damages your hair, but now some really excellent hair dryers make your hair smooth and silky without using special care. As I mentioned in my previous entry, when I first used Panasonic hair dryer, I was very surprised that it did not only dry my hair faster, but my hair texture also improved a lot with using it.  :) Today, I'm going to share with you two best Japanese hair dryers which have so many positive reviews in Japan.

1. Panasonic Hair Dryer Nanocare
Panasonic is one of the biggest Japanese electronics companies and was founded in Osaka, Japan in 1918. Outside Japan, Panasonic is probably well known for televisions, headphones and cameras. Actually, they make more and more of products in Japan. They also make their popular beauty products such as hair dryers, facial steamers and eyelash curlers. As I mentioned in my previous entry, Panasonic Nanoe Hair Dryer is the best hair dryer I've ever used. It drys my hair faster and makes my hair smooth and soft. Their hair dryer have been always very popular in Japan. They just released their new hair dryer, Nanocare Hair Dryer EH-NA97, last year, and it has already so many positive reviews on @cosme, a huge Japanese cosmetic review site, and it is ranked the best hair dryer in Japan now.
Nanocare Hair Dryer EH-NA97

Nanoe moisturizes your hair inside and out and make your hair shiny and beautiful. It also does scalp care with nanoe. You hair is more beautiful and healthier by using Nanocare hair dryer. It's like getting special hair smooth treatment done at home.

2. LUMIELINA HAIRBEAUZER ExcelleMium2 HBE2-G
Lumielina Hairbeauzer is currently ranked number 2 as the best hair dryer on @cosme. This hair dryer is used at many hair salons in Japan and is often recommended by Japanese hairdressers and Japanese beauty magazines. The air flow of Lumielina Hairbeauzer is not as strong as Panasonic Nanocare, but most people reviews that it gives your hair a beautiful shiny finishing.
LUMIELINA HAIRBEAUZER ExcelleMium2 HBE2-G
As you use this hair dryer, your hair will be stronger and healthier. While most hair dryers dry your hair with heat, which damages your hair, Lumielina Hairbeauzer drys your hair with far infrared rays, which heat from the inside out and create an effect that softens your hair. It also improve your facial skin condition by far infrared rays of this dryer. :) Many hairdressers say that it is best to alternate with hot and cold air settings to get the best result.

Swimming Every Day

Summer has come, and it's been very hot these days. After walking around my neighborhood, my husband and I finally decided to swim in our apartment's pool this Sunday. Even though it's just three minutes by foot from our home, we hadn't used this pool after moving into this apartment actually. It's been already three years since we moved in though.  Last time we swam was in the ocean, Hawaii last year. :)

Swimming in the pool during night was very refreshing. I was able to see a beautiful full moon during swimming there. :)
We talked that we should try to swim there every day this month instead of walking. On the first day of our challenge, I got very tired from swimming for 30 minutes. Even though I really enjoyed swimming while I was there, I got very tired right after that. It's because I think I did the exercise that develops little-used muscles. I know that my everyday exercise had been not enough, and swimming is a good exercise to improve my health. :) Moreover, trying new things is very fun and makes me happy. :) We actually went swimming there three days in a row for now.

After swimming, we soaked in a hot water in a Jacuzzi for a while last night. The hot water and bubbling of a Jacuzzi made me relax. :)
The summer heat usually makes me tired and lazy, but now I really enjoy very hot summer days. I will go swimming again tonight. :)

The Photos Taken with Canon EOS Rebel SL1

As I mentioned in my previous entry, my husband and I went to San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary to watch wild birds and took many photos. I shared the pictures I took with my camera, Canon PowerShot SX50 HS, with you yesterday. Today, I'm going to share with you the photos he took with his Canon digital single-lens reflex camera, Canon EOS Rebel SL1 with telephoto zoom lens, Canon EF-S 55-250mm. He also used a tripod, Dolica Proline AX620B100. Even though it is very easy to take photos with Canon Powershot from far distance, Canon EOS camera allows you to take pictures in better quality.
San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary in Irvine
It is only 4.5X optical zoom lens, so we can not magnify enough the image from very far way, but the photos taken with his Canon DSLR camera are very sharp and beautiful.

At first, we bought these to film videos in better quality for my YouTube channel. Since I am a blogger, I frequently take photos, so this camera has changed quality of my blog too. :) This year our tripod finally broke after 10 year use, so we bought this new tripod, Dolica AX620B100. He really likes our new tripod because it's very easy and quick to connect and disconnect for our camera. :)

I uploaded this video, which he recorded with his Canon EOS Rebel SL1.
