Sapporo Ichiban Momosan Ramen Tonkotsu - How My Husband Cooked!

Sapporo Ichiban Momosan Ramen Tonkotsu
This weekend, my husband cooked two types of Sapporo Ichiban Momosan Ramen, Tonkotsu and Tokyo Chicken. As I expected, they were so good! 😋 I thought that these were the best instant ramen you can find in the U.S.

Sapporo Ichiban Momosan Ramen
As I mentioned in my previous entry, Sapporo Ichiban Momosan Ramen Tokyo Chicken - Costco Haul & How He Cooked!, I purchased Sapporo Ichiban Momosan Ramen Tokyo Chicken at my local Costco and I really liked it. However, Costco stopped selling them eventually. Then, I found that Sapporo Ichiban Momosan Ramen were selling at my local Japanese supermarket, and I decided to purchase them to try tonkotsu one for my first time. Today, I'm going to share with you how my husband cooked Sapporo Ichiban Momosan Ramen tonkotsu. If you don't have Japanese supermarkets nearby you, you can still find these ramen on Amazon for now.

Just keep in mind that instant ramen has too much sodium (90% daily value!) in its soup, so try not to drink entire soup.

Ingredients (1 Serving)

1 Sapporo Ichiban Momosan Ramen Tonkotsu

450ml of Water

1 Egg

1/2 Cup of Chopped Green Onions

1 Tablespoon of Kizami Nori

 1. In a small pot, bring water to a boil. Add noodles and cook for 3 minutes.

 2. Meanwhile, empty soup packet and liquid seasoning packet in a large ramen bowl.

 3. Pour hot water into the bowl and mix well.

4. Add noodles and stir.

5. Add a cooked egg.

By the way, he always cooks eggs with a microwave oven. Put a little water in a small bowl and put a fresh egg in it. Then microwave it for seconds. If you over cooked the egg in a microwave oven, you know that it would be exploded in it. Try not to over cook the egg.

6. Top it with green onions.

 7. Top it with kizami nori. If you don't have kizami nori, shredded dried seaweed, you can use any types of nori.

8. Enjoy!

Sapporo Ichiban Momosan Ramen Tonkotsu

Sapporo Ichiban Momosan Ramen had had decent tonkotsu flavor. 😋 The soup had sesame seeds in it.

Sapporo Ichiban Momosan Ramen
I liked both of flavors, but I probably liked Tokyo Chicken one more than Tonkotsu one. The soup of Tokyo Chicken one had lot of umami flavor. I think that I am too picky when it comes to tonkotsu ramen since I was born and raised in Fukuoka where tonkotsu ramen originated in.) If you are an avid tonkotsu ramen lover, I recommend you to try Marutai Kuamoto Tonkotsu Ramen frankly. If you are in the U.S., you can find Marutai Kumamoto Tonkotsu Ramen on Amazon US, but you cannot find them at Japanese supermarkets. If you are in Japan, you can probably find them at Donki and few supermarkets. You can check out my previous entry, Marutai Kumamoto Tonkotsu Ramen with Browned Garlic and Black Garlic Sesame Oil.

Japanese Beauty Haul - What I Purchased at a Japanese Supermarket

This month, I've purchased some Japanese products at my local Tokyo Central, a Japanese supermarket chain in the U.S. I also purchased my favorite Japanese beauty products which have been very popular in Japan. Today, I'm going to share what I purchased there with you. If you are in Japan, you can easily find these products at drugstores, discount stores such as Donki. If you are in the U.S., you can find these at Japanese supermarkets and Amazon.

Bifesta Cleansing Sheet  Bright Up

I purchased this Japanese makeup removing wipe, Bifesta Cleansing Sheet Bright Up, at my local Tokyo Central. If you have been following my blog, you probably know that this is my favorite one. 😊

If you are looking for the best makeup removing wipes, you really should try Bifesta Cleansing Sheet. When I used Bifesta Cleansing Sheet Bright for my first time, I was very surprised that it removed makeup and moisturized my skin at the same time. My skin didn't feel sticky after that but well hydrated. You can check out my previous entries, 7 Most Popular Japanese Facial Cleansing Wipes for Removing Makeup and 3 Best Japanese Makeup Removers You Can Find Drugstores in Japan (& 2 My Favorite Ones!)

Bifesta Cleansing Sheet  Bright Up
When I visited Japan in 2017 and 2019, I purchased Bifesta Cleansing Sheet because makeup removing wipes are perfect for traveling. Next time I visit Japan, I will definitely purchase one there again. However, since it's still in the coronavirus pandemic, I don't think that I can fly to Japan this winter. That's why I decided to purchase this one at a Japanese supermarket in the U.S.

Makeup removing wipes are also great for lazy night. 😉

Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioner

The reason why I went to my local Tokyo Central that day was that I wanted to purchase this Japanese keshosui, Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioner. My husband and I have been using this one twice a day for over a year, and we really love it.

Hatomugi Skin Conditioner has been very popular in Japan. It's very affordable and moisturizes your skin pretty well. In addition, it is really gentle to your skin. I understood that why people in Japan love Hatomugi Skin Conditioner so much.

Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioner
Because I apply this Hatomugi Skin Conditioner before I apply my favorite beauty serum, DERMAdoctor Kakadu C 20% Vitamin C Serum, I feel like my beauty serum absorbs well into my skin. Most Japanese people believe that applying keshosui right after cleansing is the most important skincare step to keep your skin healthy. If you haven't used Japanese keshosui before, I recommend you to try this Hatomugi Skin Conditioner. 😉

How to Cook Miso Soup at Home

When I was a child, I had miso soup every day. Smell of miso soup my mother cooked woke me up every morning at that time. She always cooked miso soup with seasonal vegetables. 😋

I still really love miso soup and sometimes cook it at home. Cooking miso soup is very easy. Today, I'm going to share how to cook miso soup with you.

Ingredients (4 servings)

2 Cups of Water

Your Favorite Vegetable (Gobo, Mushrooms, Radishes, Spinach, Potatoes, Egg Plants, Squash, Okura, Onions and etc)

Your Favorite Meat, Seafood, or Tofu (Thinly Sliced Pork, Salmon, Clams, Tofu or etc)

1 Teatspoon of Hondashi

1 to 2 Tablespoons of Miso Paste (White Miso, Red Miso or Awase Miso)

2 Teaspoons of Dried Wakame, Seaweeds

1/4 Cup of  Green Onions (Chopped)

Gobo, Burdock Roots

My Frozen Gobo, Burdock Roots
For vegetables, I often add frozen gobo, burdock roots. After purchasing gobo, I slice gobo thinly, put them in a ziploc bag and keep them in freezer. Gobo is perfect for miso soup.

Okra, Okura

Okra, Okura
This time, I added okra, okura to my miso soup. I purchased this frozen cut okra at Whole Foods. When you add frozen okura to miso soup, you will enjoy its unique slimy texture. It remind me of Japanese popular nameko mushroom miso soup. Nameko mushroom has also slimy texture.
Okra, Okura

1. Pour water into a sauce pan.  Add your favorite vegetable, meat and hondashi, and bring it to a boil. Simmer it for 10 minutes.

This time, I added gobo, brown mushroom, and okura for vegetable.

2. With using a miso koshi strainer, blend miso into soup.

Miso Koshi Strainer

3. Put dried wakame into a Japanese soup bowl, which is called owan (お椀).

4. Pour miso soup into a bowl, and garnish with green onions.

5. Enjoy!
