United Club Lounge and In-Flight Meals - My Japan Travel

United Airlines Flight from Los Angeles to Tokyo

My husband and I flew to Tokyo from Los Angeles in November, 2022.

We Used Miles to Book Airline Tickets!

This time, we used airline miles to book United Airlines tickets for our first time. In order to get a round trip ticket from Los Angeles to Tokyo, you need at least 70,000 United Mileage miles. The easiest way to earn United Mileage miles is credit card welcome bonus, which is opening an United credit card and reaching the minimum spending requirement. I opened United Explorer MileagePlus credit card and spent over $3,000 with using the credit card in three months after opening it, and I earned over 70,000 miles. Because I opened the United Explorer MileagePlus credit card, I received two United Club one-time passes, which allow you to access United Club Lounge. That's why we decided to go to United Club lounge for our first time. If you don't have the pass, you can purchase a one-time pass for $59 per person to access the lounge.

After scanning United Club one-time passes at the entrance, we entered United Club Lounge. This lounge is clean and spacious. It has a bar you can order alcohol. It also has outdoor terrace spaces.

You can enjoy watching airplanes landing and taking off.

You can enjoy drinks and snacks.

I chose bagels, eggs, guacamole and cream cheese, and I made the bagel sandwiches. It was my nice and big breakfast. 😋

When it comes to in-flight meals, I prefer Japanese airlines such as ANA and JAL. We've always chosen economy class seats, but ANA and JAL served pretty good meals during flights from Japan. This time, we chose United Airlines economy class seats, and I expected that the flight meals would be very American.

I regretted that I had chosen this American waffle which was excessively sweet to me.

The flight from Tokyo to Los Angeles, we enjoyed this daifuku, which is mochi filled with sweetened red bean paste.

　 It was an ordinary breakfast, omelette, sausage, and hush browns.

My husband chose yakisoba noodles for breakfast. 😆 We could have some Japanese foods during flights from Tokyo.

During our long flights, I could sleep pretty well. My husband told me that I was only awake during meal times. 😴 After arriving Tokyo, we headed toward Ikebukuro. I will write about hotels we stayed in Tokyo next time.

Many people review that it remove makeup very well and is gentle to your skin.

I also really love MANDOM Bifesta Cleansing Sheet. If you haven't tried it yet, you really should get one. It removes makeup very easily and moisturizes your skin at the same time.

At Mastsumotokiyoshi drugstore in Tokyo, I found that they were selling very cute limited edition ones which were released in October this year! The Moist one has My Melody packaging, and Bright Up one has Kuromi packaging. It usually has 46 sheets, but the limited edition one has 50 sheets! I ended up purchasing Moist one with My Melody packaging.

I also purchased this Kose Softymo Double Hyaluromic Acid Makeup Remover Sheet to remove my makeup during my travel in Japan. In my honest opinion, I love Bifesta more than this one because the sheet is smaller. However, it completely removes my makeup with just one sheet. I cannot believe that it contains 52 sheets and was on sale for 217 yen ($1.53). 😲

These are face masks I purchased in Japan.

As I mentioned in my previous entry, my husband and I visited in Japan last month. When I was in Japan, Japanese yen was pretty low (1 USD was 141 yen at that time.), so everything I saw in Japan looked an incredible bargain to me. As I mentioned in my previous entry, my husband and I visited Japan last month. Because I love Muji products so much, Muji store is one of my must go to places in Japan. This time, I visited two Muji branches, Muji Seibu Ikebukuro and MUJI com Higashi Ikebukuro, which were located around Ikebukuro station in Tokyo. If you are planning on visiting Japan, I recommend you to visit Muji in Japan. It's because Muji is selling excellent products with reasonable prices, and some of their products are very popular in Japan. Today, I'm going to share what I purchased at Muji store in Japan with you.

1. Muji Light Toning Water Moisture (無印良品化粧水・敏感肌用しっとりタイプ)

I purchased three bottles of Muji Light Toning Water Moisture (無印良品化粧水・敏感肌用しっとりタイプ), which is my all-time favorite Japanese keshosui. As I mentioned in my previous entry, 3 Best Affordable Japanese Facial Lotion, Keshosui (& My Favorite One + My Skincare Routine), the reasons why I love Muji Light Toning Water is that it's affordable, so I can use plenty of it at a time. I also like the fact that its texture is as light as water, but it moisturizes very well (With applying light feeling keshosui, I feel as if my skin were drinking water.).

I also purchased this Muji Spray Head (無印良品スプレーヘッド). With using this spray head, it's easier to apply keshosui on your skin. This is perfect for their 400ml bottle of Light Toning Water. If you want to use it for Muji Light Toning Water 200ml bottle, you can cut the tube to 11cm long. This spray head can be used for Muji Light Toning Water Light (さっぱりタイプ) and Moisture (しっとりタイプ). You cannot use it for thicker texture keshosui such as Muji Light Toning Water High Moisture one (高保湿タイプ). As I mentioned in my previous entry, Japanese Beauty Haul - What I Purchased at a Japanese Supermarket in the U.S., you can also use it for 500ml bottle of Hatomugi Skin Conditioner.

This Muji Eye Color Cream Type Orange Brown eyeshadow has been very popular in Japan. Because its explosive popularity, I heard that this eyeshadow is often sold out at many Muji stores. I am glad that I was able to get this one.

I also love Muji Mini Ramen series (無印良品ミニラーメン). You can make instant ramen noodles with it, but I like to directly eat it as snacks (no cooking). If you love Baby Star Ramen Sanck, you might like it. This Tom Yam Kung, Tom Yum Goong flavor has salty and sour taste. I noticed that it has a hint of lime flavor. I really liked this one!

This pasta sauce was made of black squid ink, so you can make squid ink pasta easily at home. When we cooked squid ink pasta with this Muji pasta sauce, I will share it with you through my blog. 😋
