Bommer Canyon in Irvine
|
Last month, my husband and I went to Bommer Canyon to
enjoy hiking. We found this trail in the book, 50 Hikes in Orange County, which I purchased to enjoy Orange County hikes.
Tips for Walking on Bommer Canyon.
・Apply sunscreen on entire body.
・Wear sunglasses and hat.
・Drink water often.
・You cannot bring your dog.
・It's moderately easy trail.

Parking
There is a free parking lot for this trail. When we arrived there at around 2 p.m., there were many empty parking spaces.

After we parked our car at the free parking lot, we headed toward the gate of Bommer Meadow trail.

This is a very quiet flat trail. You will enjoy walking through broad grasslands.

This trail has some bridges. There were black mustard plants (yellow flowers) blooming beautifully. They are beautiful, but it is one of invasive plant species in California.

This is the junction of Bommer Mdw trail and Nature Loop trail.

This is junction of Nature Loop trail, Boomer Mdw trail and Bommer Pass trail.

We decided to hike on Bommer Pass Trail, which is moderate trail.

We started hiking up the hill. We saw some squirrels here. Some of them looked baby squirrels and were very small.

This cactus was very interesting.

This is the junction of Bommer Pass trail and West Fork trail. We decided to go back from here.

On our way back to the parking lot, we found wild lizards on Bommer Pass trail.

We also saw a flock of cute quails crossing on Nature Loop Trail.

We walked on Bommer Mdw Trail. Some hikers told us that they'd just seen a rattlesnake on Bommer Mdw trail.

From the trails, you will see multi million dollar houses. One of mansion houses in this area is currently selling at around 50-million dollars.

Bommer Canyon

We enjoyed walking through this beautiful broad grasslands. Especially, I liked that we found a flock of cute quails during our hike. By the way, very easy Quail Hill Loop Trail is pretty close to Bommer Canyon. You can check out my previous entry, Quail Hill Loop Trail in Irvine, CA .
