Hotel Room Tour and Review - Hilton Osaka - Osaka, Japan

Hilton Osaka
As I mentioned in my previous entries, my husband and I visited Osaka last winter. We stayed in Osaka Daiichi Hotel for one night, Conrad Osaka for one night and Hilton Osaka for two nights.

It took less than ten minutes from Conrad Osaka to Hilton Osaka by taxi. It cost about 700 yen (one taximeter) but we paid 1,000 yen including tip. As I mentioned in my previous entry, What You Should Take to Japan - Japan Travel Tips, there is no tipping in any situation in Japan, so you don't have to tip at all when you are in Japan. However, when it comes to taxi, I sometimes tip a taxi driver because it was a very short distance (only one taximeter) and I didn't want to pay with coins on the busy street, so I tell a taxi driver, "Otsuri wa irimasen (おつりはいりません。)," which means "Keep the change." However, basically, you don't need to tip taxi drivers in Japan.

The Location Is Excellent!

Hilton Osaka is located in the center of Osaka city (There are so many shopping spots and restaurants nearby the hotel.) As I mentioned in my previous entry, Japanese Grocery Haul - What I Purchased at Supermarket, Department Stores and Kitano Ace in Japan, we went to depachika (デパ地下) to purchase some high quality grocery and also went to Muji store located in Grand Front Osaka (グランフロント大阪) to purchase my favorite Muji products. By the way, if you are looking for an affordable hotel located in an excellent location in Osaka, I recommend you to try Osaka Daiichi Hotel (Osaka Marubiru). Hilton Osaka and Osaka Daiichi Hotel are located very close to each other. It takes less than one minute by walk to go to Hilton Osaka from Osaka Daiichi Hotel.

How to Get Hilton Osaka from an Airport
At Osaka International Airport (大阪国際空港), which is also called Itami Airport (伊丹空港), you can take an airport limousine bus to go to Osaka Marubiru, which is located right across from Hilton Osaka. It only costs 650 yen per person and takes 30 minutes to get there from the airport. By the way, Hilton Osaka is just 3 minutes away from JR Osaka station.

Lobby (The 1st Floor)

Lobby (1F)

The lobby is located on the first floor. We had originally booked the least expensive room, but when we checked in at this hotel, they upgraded our room to King Deluxe Room because he had Hilton Honors Diamond status. We were really grateful that they upgraded our room because it was the busiest season in Japan.

Some of the Perks of Hilton Honors Diamond Status
・A complimentary continental breakfast for you and up to one guest registered to the same room each day of your stay (Hilton Osaka's breakfast costs 3,000 yen per person. We stayed in Hilton Osaka for two nights, so we saved 12,000yen for breakfast. )
・Executive Floor Lounge Access (You can enjoy complimentary drinks and light meals there.)
・Space-available upgrade to a preferred room
・1,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points per stay
・Premium Wi-Fi

Elevators
While Conrad Osaka has new and very modern looks, you can find traditional Japanese style at Hilton Osaka.

King Deluxe Room (30m²/323 sq. ft)

King Deluxe Room (30m²/323 sq. ft)
We stayed in this King Deluxe Room. The room was spacious enough for us.

The window had shoji (障子), traditional Japanese sliding windows which consist of wood frames filled in with paper.

From the window, we could enjoy the view of Osaka cityscape.
JR Osaka Station (The View from the Room)

We could see the JR Osaka station.

Umeda Sky Building (The View from the Room)

The night view was also beautiful. The tall building was Umeda Sky building (梅田スカイビル).

Hilton Osaka Welcome Sweets
These were welcome sweets from Hilton Osaka.
Hilton Osaka Welcome Sweets
These were wagashi (和菓子), traditional Japanese confections. The orange one looked very like a persimmon, which is called kaki (柿) in Japanese. The brown one looked very like chestnut, which is called kuri (栗) in Japanese. Persimmon and chestnuts are fall-and-winter fruit in Japan. I guessed that these were made of sweetened white bean pastes. My husband ate all of them.

This small paper box had brown sugar rusks in it. It was sweet and crispy.

There were two bottles of water on the mini fridge.

There were some green tea, hojicha and instant coffee. The coffee was UCC The Blend 117 instant coffee.

The bathroom was also nice and clean.

There were Crabtree & Evelyn shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion.

The Japanese soaking bathtub is deeper than a regular American style bathtub.  When I visit Japan, I always enjoy taking a hot bath every night just like I used to do when I lived in Japan. It relieves your tired body, and it really makes you relax.

Next time, I will write about Hilton Osaka Executive Lounge.
