Hotel Room Tour and Review – Caption by Hyatt Kabutocho Tokyo

Caption by Hyatt

As I mentioned in my previous entries, my husband and I visited Japan in spring 2026. After checking out of Conrad Tokyo, we moved to Caption by Hyatt Kabutocho Tokyo for a two‑night stay. The hotel is located in Kabutocho, within walking distance of Kokyo Gaien, one of the most popular running routes in Tokyo. We were planning to jog around the Imperial Palace area, so the location was perfect for us.

We originally booked this hotel purely for convenience, but we ended up loving it. The entire property is stylish, thoughtfully designed, and comfortable, with a modern atmosphere that feels both casual and refined. It turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises during our trip — a hotel chosen for practicality that became a place we genuinely enjoyed.

Caption by Hyatt Kabutocho Tokyo

Caption by Hyatt Kabutocho Tokyo opened in October 2025, so everything still felt new and fresh during our stay. While checking in, guests can pick up amenities such as toothpaste, makeup remover, and basic skincare items at the front desk, which is convenient if you’re traveling light.

Because I’m a World of Hyatt Discoverist, the staff let me know I was eligible for a 2 pm late check‑out (regular check‑out is 11 am). This small perk made a big difference — it gave us plenty of time to relax and pack before heading to the airport on the final day of our trip.

I really liked their wall arts, which feature big floor numbers surrounded by detailed illustrations of Kabutocho’s streets and people, creating a warm and creative vibe throughout the hotel.

Twin Room (28㎡/301ft²)

Our room was Twin Room. The room was very new and clean, with a fresh, modern feel that made our stay comfortable from the moment we walked in.

There was a narrow but tall window, so we enjoyed a nice view of Tokyo throughout our stay. The small table, chair, and sofa in the room were surprisingly useful, and we often sat there to relax and enjoy the bread and snacks we bought from Takashimaya department store, which is conveniently located near the hotel.

Mini Bar

There was a mini bar cabinet, neatly arranged and easy to access, which made the space feel more thoughtfully designed.

There was a water pitcher and an ice bucket placed neatly on the cabinet counter, which made it easy for us to enjoy cold drinks in the room. Guests can refill water and get fresh ice from the dispenser located on the same floor, so it was convenient and practical during our stay.

Coffee mugs, glasses, and a selection of coffee and tea bags were neatly stored in the drawer, making it easy to prepare a drink in the room. There was also a small tray for used tea bags, which turned out to be surprisingly practical and kept everything tidy.

There was a red electric kettle in the corner of the cabinet, and we found ourselves using it many times during our stay. It was perfect for brewing coffee or tea whenever we wanted, and having it right in the room made our mornings and evenings feel more relaxed and convenient.

There were two pairs of slippers neatly placed in the upper drawer, ready for us to use. The slippers were fluffy and soft, and they felt very comfortable to walk in, making them a cozy touch that added to the overall comfort of the room.

There were two pairs of pajamas provided in the room, and they were oversized yet very stylish. I really liked them because they felt comfortable to wear and added a touch of design flair that matched the hotel’s modern atmosphere.

During a rainy day, the hotel provided free umbrella rentals at the front desk, which was such a thoughtful service. It made it easy for us to step outside without worrying about the weather, and we truly appreciated how convenient and guest‑friendly this small detail was.

Bathroom

The bathroom was also very new and clean, with a fresh and modern atmosphere that made it pleasant to use. Since amenities such as toothpaste and skincare products are available at the front desk rather than cluttering the bathroom, the space looked especially neat and well‑organized.

Apotheke

There were Apotheke bath gel and lotion provided in the bathroom, adding a touch of luxury to the stay. The products had a refined, modern feel, and using them made the experience more enjoyable, complementing the hotel’s clean and stylish atmosphere.

There was no bathtub, but I really liked the shower area. It was clean, modern, and the water pressure was strong enough to feel refreshing. The shampoo and conditioner were also from Apotheke, which added a stylish and high‑quality touch to the bathroom experience.

Apotheke

I really liked the wall arts in the bathroom as well. They added a stylish and unexpected touch to the space, making the bathroom feel more unique and thoughtfully designed. It was a pleasant surprise to see artwork even in such a practical area, and it gave the room a creative atmosphere beyond just being clean and modern.

Fitness Studio

The fitness studio is located on the 2nd floor of the hotel.

There was a water dispenser and towels available, which made it convenient to stay hydrated and fresh during workouts.

The fitness area itself was not very spacious and did not have a large number of exercise machines, but the equipment they did have was quite new and in good condition, making it a pleasant place for a short workout.

 Water and Ice Dispenser

Water and ice dispensers were conveniently located on each floor, which turned out to be very useful during our stay. We haven’t seen this service offered at any Japanese hotels so far, even though it is quite typical at most hotels in the U.S. This thoughtful feature made it easy to stay refreshed without having to leave the floor, and we really appreciated the convenience.

Next time, I will share my visit to the National Museum of Nature and Science (国立科学博物館) in Tokyo — a place I had been wanting to explore for a long time.

Conrad Tokyo Breakfast Buffet at Cerise – Authentic Japanese Dining

Cerise in Conrad Tokyo

As I mentioned in earlier posts, my husband and I stayed at Conrad Tokyo in spring 2026. One highlight of our stay was breakfast at Cerise, the restaurant located on the 28th floor. Normally priced at ¥6,500 per person, our meal would have cost ¥13,000 in total. Because of his Hilton Diamond Status, our breakfast was complimentary.

Breakfast Buffet
Monday through Friday : 6:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Saturday and Sunday : 7 to 10:30 a.m.

The floor-to-ceiling windows filled the restaurant with daylight, creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere. From our table, we enjoyed sweeping views of Tokyo’s skyline.

Breakfast Menu

At the start of breakfast, the staff asked whether we preferred coffee or tea. The waitress then explained that, in addition to the buffet, each guest could select one dish from the menu.

Lobster Omelette (ロブスターオムレツ)

I ordered the lobster omelette, the most popular item on their breakfast menu. The omelette was light and fluffy, while the lobster was tender, plump, and full of flavor — a truly delicious combination.

Anago Chawanmushi (穴子の茶碗蒸し)

My husband chose the Anago Chawanmushi (穴子の茶碗蒸し), a classic Japanese steamed egg custard topped with tender conger eel. The silky texture of the custard paired beautifully with the delicate flavor of the eel, making it a refined and memorable dish.

The breakfast buffet offered a generous variety of Japanese, Chinese, and Western dishes. Being based in the U.S., we especially appreciate the chance to savor authentic Japanese flavors when we travel here. He chose raw egg over rice (卵かけご飯, tamago kake gohan), a simple yet quintessential Japanese breakfast dish. Mixing the egg into the warm rice created a silky texture and comforting flavor — a taste we always look forward to when visiting Japan.

I chose miso soup generously topped with green onion. For me, natto and nori are essentials at breakfast. I also enjoyed onsen tamago, a traditional Japanese low-temperature boiled egg with a delicate texture.

To finish, we sampled pastries and a few desserts, complemented by a cup of rich coffee.

After breakfast, we headed to the fitness gym to work out, since we had eaten quite a lot. Later, we checked out at the Executive Lounge on the 37th floor, where we enjoyed fresh coffee. Meanwhile, the staff at Conrad Tokyo kindly assisted us by moving our suitcases to the taxi.

Then, we headed to Caption by Hyatt Hotel, conveniently located near Tokyo Station. I’ll share more about that stay in my next entry.

Review: Conrad Tokyo Executive Lounge – From Afternoon Calm to Nighttime Glow

Conrad Tokyo Executive Lounge

As I mentioned in earlier posts, my husband and I stayed at Conrad Tokyo in spring 2026. What I especially looked forward to during this stay was experiencing the Executive Lounge, enjoying their breakfast, and other exclusive amenities.

The Executive Lounge is located on the 37th floor. Guests staying in Executive Rooms or Suites—and Hilton Honors Diamond members—have access to this lounge, where complimentary food and drinks are offered during afternoon tea and evening cocktail hours.

Afternoon Tea Hours (3 p.m. through 5 p.m.)

During afternoon tea hours (3:00–5:00 p.m.), guests can enjoy a selection of drinks, desserts, and light meals in the lounge. We visited around 4:00 p.m., when the space was quiet and only a few people were present, creating a calm and relaxed atmosphere.

We enjoyed sandwiches and mini cakes, which were beautifully presented and paired perfectly with our drinks. My husband chose coffee, while I opted for a matcha green tea latte, adding a distinctly Japanese touch to the experience.

The views from the Executive Lounge were truly spectacular. From the large windows, we enjoyed watching a long train weaving its way between the high‑rise buildings, a scene that perfectly captured the dynamic energy of Tokyo.

Evening Cocktail Hours (6 p.m. through 8 p.m.)

During evening cocktail hours, guests can enjoy a variety of drinks—including wine, cocktails, and other beverages—alongside appetizers and desserts.

We were really satisfied with their delicious meals, which complemented the refined atmosphere and made the experience even more memorable.

The view from the lounge windows changed completely once night fell. In the afternoon, the city felt calm, with trains gliding quietly between the high‑rise buildings. By evening, the atmosphere shifted—the skyscrapers glowed against the dark sky, and the city lights created a beautiful, vibrant view of Tokyo.

Next time, I will share my impressions of the breakfast buffet at Conrad Tokyo.
