The Sunny Jim Sea Cave and Coast Walk Trail in La Jolla, San Diego

I-5
Because it rained a lot in Southern California this winter, a super bloom has come this spring! That's why my husband and I decided to go out to enjoy seeing wildflowers and wildlife last month. While we were heading toward San Diego, we saw many beautiful wildflowers on hills from I-5. It was like huge yellow carpets!

We have visited La Jolla many times, but it was our first time to enter the sea cave there. There are seven sea caves in La Jolla, and you can walk down to the Sunny Jim Sea Cave.

The Sunny Jim Sea Cave
You can pay the admission fee at cashier in the Cave Store and walk down the stairs to get the Sunny Jim Sea Cave.

Admission Fee :
Adults $5

This manmade tunnel was dark and had wooden stairs. You can walk 145 steps down to an ocean view at the bottom of the cave.

The view from the bottom of the cave was beautiful. It was a pretty great work out to walk back up the all stairs. ;) Some day, I would like to explore other La Jolla's sea caves by kayaking. :)

After going out of the Cave Store, we decided to walk around the store.

There were some groups of people kayaking there. Last time we enjoyed kayaking was in Huntington Beach. Someday, I would like to try it in La Jolla too!

Then, we decided to walk on the Coast Walk Trail, which is located close to the Cave Store.

This short trail was very quiet. We only saw a few groups of people there. We enjoyed walking the trail with lush vegetation and seeing beautiful wildflowers blooming.

Then, we also walked around La Jolla to see California sea lions and seals. I'll write about it next time.
